Mel came in and sat down across the table. My heart was racing like a sports car engine. What am I? Mel smiled reassuringly and said,"do not be afraid child, you have bright days ahead. The first thing you should know, is that each time an alpha dies, a new one takes it's place, and the spirit of the deceased alpha, lives inside of the new living one until they too pass. So, you have all of the past lycan alphas living inside of you. You posses such great energy, I'm surprised that that amulet contained it all. You are the white wolf, you and Mai were chosen to be born on a specific lunar date. You, were born on the summer solstice, bringing light, and life. Mai, was born on the winter solstice, bringing darkness, and death. The white wolf and the black wolf. The legend dates back as far as lycanthropy itself. The legend states that two of the strongest lycans will be born and one will be the light, other, darkness. They will be born at a time when their race needs them most, and they will together become the strongest to ever rule. The white wolf is the main alpha, over all, but the black wolf is her beta, and they keep each other balanced. They are the key for restoring balance to the supernatural world. Leda, you being the alpha means that you have many gifts such as enhanced senses, healing, mind links-you can talk to Mai in your head- and lastly, you can have memory access to anyone by putting your claw into their neck. Your eyes, are a light green at the moment, but as time goes on, they will turn yellow and glow. Mai's eyes are blue because she has killed an innocent-yet another thing that completes the black wolf legend..." My mind was racing, but I was so excited, I just discovered my true power! Too bad I don't know how to use it yet. Mel walked over to my chair and stuck her hand out for me to take, which I did. "Come with me, and I will show you how to transform."

When we walked outside, I could feel the moon in my bones, and when I looked up at it, I could sense it with me, like Anna and her father. I could feel the moons energy flowing through my veins, and for the first time in my life, I felt powerful. We stopped at the center of the garden, there, the other girls were waiting.
"Leda, feel the moon inside you, harness it's energy and believe in who you are. Take deep breaths, and feel it transforming you. You have control over it. You are the white wolf, it's a part of you, and it lives in you." I could hear Mel guiding me through the process, and I closed my eyes. The energy swept over me in waves, and euphoria flooded me. I could feel my bones crack and pop, but It didn't hurt. I felt the hair on the back of my neck rise, my fingernails grew into claws, and I could feel my eyes begin to glow. "Your half way there Leda, your doing great. This is called the halfling stage-where you are between human and wolf, this can happen at any time, provoked from your emotions or you can trigger it yourself. Just keep pushing. Now that you've felt it in your bones, allow yourself to feel it in your soul." I heard Mel say. I let the light of the moon surge inside of me and slowly fill my spirit, it felt amazing, words could not describe it. Then, for a brief moment, there was nothing. I opened my eyes, afraid that I had failed, but when I opened them, I was looking from a whole new perspective. I was about a foot shorter, and everything around me seemed to glow. I could smell hundreds of different scents, and the moons energy ran through me like blood. Everyone was smiling, but I didn't see Mai. Then, I see a black wolf make their way in front of me. Our eyes lock. We walk in a circle, and then our noses touch. A bright light beams and Mel says,"behold! The white and black wolf are together again! Reborn to fight for the existence of all supernatural entities! Light, and darkness, bonded together for all time! Circling each other until oblivion." The light disappeared, and I felt the moons energy drain from me. Black, and then I was a foot taller. I looked down at my hands. No claws. Mai was back to her normal self as well. She came over and hugged me tightly, which felt strange. I patted her back. What was with the sudden change of heart? The girls led us back inside, they were all cheering and shouting. But I didn't feel like a hero, or a legend. I never pondered upon the idea that I might actually mean something. But now, I know that I have a purpose, and I know that it's not just about me anymore. Me and Mai, we have to protect our people. We have to protect the good of what's left in this hate-driven world.
