Training

When I woke up, my back ached and my head was throbbing. It felt like I had a hangover, even though I didn't even drink last night. A bell went ringing through the hall, and I heard Mel saying,"breakfast!" Over and over again. I slowly raised up and rubbed my eyes, the morning light shining off the walls burned my eyes. I got up and made my way to the bathroom, washing my face and putting on a small amount of makeup. I stared at my reflection, and noticed that my eyes were turning yellow. The green was fading while the yellow flooded my orbs. I was getting stronger, and I could feel it. I smirked in the mirror, and left the bathroom. When I opened my dresser, I heard Mai get up and moan. "I feel like death." She says, making her way to the bed. I laugh lightly and reply,"you look like it too! just take a hot shower." A few minutes later I hear the shower running. I laugh to myself, as I put on a black lace shirt, completed with a black skater shirt, and tights with a pair of short heels. After fixing my hair, I walked out of the large bedroom and down the wooden stairs.

I sat down at my designated seat, and waited for Mel to speak. She waited 5 minutes until Mai finally came down. When Mai took her seat at the table, I noticed that her eyes didn't look as dark as before. Mel smiled and started,"now that everyone is here, I can begin. From 9:30-12, we will start our individual sessions. Anna, 9:30-10; Anna Kay, 10-10:30; Mai, 10:30-11; Leda, 11-11:30; and, lastly, Haden 11:30-11. After that, we have lunch, then your free to do as you wish. Everyone wait in the living room for your turn."
After that, Anna left with Mel and the rest of us went into the living room. I sat on the couch and asked, "so, what are we supposed to do while we wait?"
"Well, mostly we just talk." Anna Kay says.
"About what?" I push.
"Well, about how we're doing in our training classes." She says.
"My spark is getting stronger. I can shock people without touching them." Haden speaks up.
"I can see the future-well, more like faint visions of the future."Anna kay says.
"I've upgraded to whiskey and Marlboro." Mai says, slumping down in her chair, pulling out a cigarette. Although I haven't known her long, it kills me to see her destroying herself like this. I turn away, I just can't bear to watch it. "Well, my powers are growing. My eyes are starting to turn yellow." I say. Haden smiles,"yeah, I noticed that."

When it was my turn, Mel took me out to the garden. "Leda, show me what you know."
I closed my eyes and focused my energy-it was becoming so much easier to me to transform-I heard my bones crack and then the darkness came. A second later, I was in my full wolf form. I could smell so many diffrent things, and all of my senses were amplified. "Very good, now, tell me what you know." Mel said. I felt the energy leave me, and I went back to my normal human state. "Well, I can do all of the regular things, and I believe that I'm an empath. I can feel others emotions just as they are my own." I say. Mel nods her head and continues,"how are you feeling about your lycan abilities?"
"Well, Mel, I can feel myself growing stronger. With each hour that passes, the yellow grows." I say.
"Very good. Your first task will be to find a hunters coat that I hid around here." Mel says as she hands a shirt to me. "This shirt also has his scent on it. Now find his jacket, in less than 5 minutes."
I take a good sniff of the shirt, and quickly change into my wolf form. There are so many different scents, but I only have one on my mind, rapidly sniffing around, I follow the trail that leads to the mans jacket. It was hidden in a rose bush. I carefully pull it out, and quickly run it back to Mel, then I lay it at her feet. She smiles and says,"3 minutes. Fantastic Leda."

Mel told me that my training today was phenomenal and that I am learning quickly. Also, on the next full moon we will have our first hunt. We sat around the dinner table, mucking around and such. I'm starting to feel very attached to these girls. After dinner was over, I walked back up the cold steps and into my room. I peeled off my clothes and threw them in the floor, picking up my nightgown and putting it on. I trudged my feet to the bathroom, more than anything I wanted sleep, just to rest; but, I washed my face. As I dried it, I looked into the mirror, and saw an unfamiliar set of golden eyes staring at me. For a second I was alarmed, but then I was ecstatic. I smiled wickedly and made my way out to the balcony. I had the desire to run, be free. I transformed quickly, then jumped down. It didn't hurt at all. Letting loose, I ran and ran and never got weary. I could feel this incredible power circulating through me, I could not let it die. It was begging for freedom, so that is what I gave it.
