Chapter 8 - Learning

I wasn't sure how long I was out. But it must have been long because when someone came busting through my door, I was a disaster. My hair was literally all over the place, and I had lines across my face and arms that came from my crumpled bedsheets. After trying to compose myself, I finally took the courage to see who was at the door. And luckily it was Aries.

"Phoenix, I don't have much time." I watched her as she hastily took off her helmet and sat down on the edge of my bed. She had put her face in her hands, which were held by her legs. 

"Aries. What's up? You look... Worried?" She let out a huge sigh and turned to look at me. I immediately noticed the tears threatening to spill out of her eyes.

"I'm not allowed to speak with you, or have anything to do with you at all anymore." 

"Wh-- why?" I stood up and looked down at her. She stood up as well and the tears were already streaming.

"Someone told General Hux about our friendship, and he saw it as unprofessional. I don't know who would have told?!" She turned to look away from me as she sobbed. Our friendship hasn't been long, but I can understand why this is hard for her. I was the first person to be nice to her in the First Order. I gave her a name and treated her nicer than most people would.

"I-- I don't know who would have. I'm sorry." I grabbed her shoulder and turned her to look at me. She immediately grabbed me and pulled me into a hug, stuffing her face into my neck, leaving my shirt a wet mess. I rubbed her back to try and comfort her, but it only seemed to make things worse.

"What happens if we do see each other?"

"I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it wouldn't be pretty." Her tears slowed down, but her breathing picked up. She sounded like she was getting anxious quickly. 

"I hear him. Phoenix! I have to leave." I was quickly pushed away from Aries, as she ran over to her helmet, and placed it on her head. 

"Goodbye Phoenix." She opened the door and looked both ways in the hallway. She must have seen someone at the end of the right because she immediately ran down the left. Once the doors shut, I was left in darkness again. I sat down on the edge of my bed and thought about what had just happened. Who could have known about us? 

As if right on queue, the door opened yet again, and none other than-

"Kylo!" I sat up and walked up to him at a medium pace. He looked startled because he shut the door quickly and took a step back.

"Phoenix? What's wrong?" His helmet was on, so he was extremely intimidating.

"Do you know who Aries is?" After I asked that, I could visibly see his stance move. He straightened up and took a step to me. He was only a few inches away. But I had to stand my ground. I didn't move. I just looked up at him. After a few seconds, I heard him sigh, and reach to take off this helmet. The familiar sound of the hatches unleashing echoed through the room, and then his helmet was placed on my dresser next to us.

"Yes." 

"Did you do this?" I had a feeling Kylo was the reason for this. But I couldn't understand why? She was the only person on this ship that I had somewhat bonded with and felt safe with. Why would he take that away?

"Phoenix. You need to understand that stormtroopers are not allowed friendships or normal daily activities. She is supposed to do her job, in exchange for food, and a home." I finally decided to take a step back. I turned my back towards him.

"She was the only person I felt safe with Kylo. And you just took that away. Just like you took me away!" Suddenly, this new anger was building up inside me. I turned back towards him, and I let the anger take control of my body.

"Since, you know, you literally kidnapped me from my own home, I thought maybe you could treat me better?! She was a simple friend, but you took that away too." I flat-handed, pushed him by his chest, but he didn't move a muscle and I immediately regretted it. My eyes widened and I took a step back.

"I--I'm sorry." I continued walking back but was stopped abruptly. I knew it was the force. Kylo's face didn't show any emotion, and I didn't know if that scared me more than being controlled by him. I felt my body being pulled to him, and out of habit, I shut my eyes, scared of what was to come.

"Never. Ever. Touch me again." I could practically feel his breath on my face. He had pulled me so close to him. Was he going to hurt me? 

"No."

"Wh-" I felt the familiar leather glove on my chin, and I already knew that Kylo had grabbed it. 

"Look at me." Without wanting to anger him more, I slowly opened my eyes, and really realized how close we were. I could visibly see the colours in his eyes. His thumb was at the bottom of my chin, and the rest of his fingers were above. I then felt his finger lift up, and touch my bottom lip. I don't know why, but I involuntarily gasped. Scared, I shut my eyes and tried to pull my face away, but I was still being controlled. His hand then tilted my head to the left, and the breath that was on my face was now on my neck. 

"It's okay." I heard him whisper with his husky voice in my ear. The chills went from my spine to the rest of my body, causing me to shiver. I heard him chuckle, and then he did the one thing I would never expect him to do. He lightly kissed the bottom of my jaw, and then another in the middle of my neck.

"Wh--what are you doing." The shivers quickened, and I didn't know what to do. I was frozen from the force, and the actions Kylo was doing. He finally let go of my chin but kept his face near my ear. 

"There's not a single day where you aren't on my mind." 

Woah.

Immediately, I was pushed onto the floor. The force and Kylo's seduction was off of me. I watched as Kylo was muttering to himself, while hastily putting his helmet on.

"I'm sorry." He then turned and force opened my door and took a step out.

"Ky-" I was stopped by the door shutting, and I was left on the floor, shivering profusely.
