Today's the day! I repeat in my head for what feels like the millionth time. It still blows my mind that I, Y/N Asuna, got into the UA high school. I slip on my brand new UA outfit for the first time, the colors complimenting my skin.

The skirt hanging comfortably around my hips and upper thighs, the socks surprisingly soft, my shirt surprisingly well fitting. All in all, I looked good. Checking myself out in the mirror, a smile of approval crosses my face as I brush my (long/short) hair.

I had received my acceptance letter to UA exactly a week ago, passing the entrance exam with flying colors. Although I didn't get as many rescue points as my mother had wanted, it couldn't be helped. I was more drawn to action rather than rescue. Don't get me wrong, rescue is important and all.... But the excitement, the adrenaline? That lies within the fighting itself.

Slinging my bag over my shoulder I speed down my stairs, finding my mother in the kitchen. "Hey honey, excited for school?" She asks as she flips eggs on her metallica themed pan. I inhale the heavenly aroma as I plop my bag over the back of my chair.

"Sure am, Asuki!" I reply, sitting down.

My mother never liked being called mom, she always said it made her feel old, even though she was only 43. It was especially confusing to the few friends I had back in middle school, they always thought I had home life drama just because I never said mom. It was pretty weird.

"Don't forget to reserve your strength today. I know you love showing off but it could get you into trouble" Asuki says as she loads up my plate with the fluffiest eggs I've ever seen.

"I know, I know." I reply, stuffing my mouth with eggs, hurrying to finish my breakfast so that I had time to get to school. Honestly I don't think I have the guts to show off. I'm so nervous I'm shaking.

I decide to commit .06% of my focus on calming down and not choking on my food. "Afterschool I want you to tell me everything that happened alright?" Asuki asks warmly "My little ladybug is growing up! I can't believe it" she says to herself as she rolls up her sleeves to wash the pan. Glancing at the clock I realize I'm going to be late if I don't leave in the next 2 minutes.

Finishing my eggs with an audible gulp, I hand my dish to my mother, smiling. "I don't have time to wash it. I'm sorry, I have to go!" I say as I scramble to get my new shoes on and sling my bag over my shoulder. "Your lucky i love you!" Asuki says loudly as I hurry out the door. I yell a quick love you as I slam the door shut, locking it behind me with my key.

I begin walking along the sidewalk towards UA. It's a beautiful day I think to myself as i gaze st the cloudless blue sky. Today's weather forecast predicted a nice 76° F high. I inhaled the scent of cherry blossoms in the air deeply; the rush of memories it gave me making me smile. What didn't make me smile however, was the wind that was beginning to pick up. Don't get me wrong. Wind is great and all, but not when your wearing a miniskirt without shorts underneath...

"Why would a school make me wear a skirt this short.." I grumble to myself as I try to pull my skirt down further, successfully failing to do so. I promptly give up pulling it down as I realize it won't, in fact, fix the skirt itself. Fine, if I'm going to look like a school girl, might as well look good doing it .

Letting out a sigh of defeat, I pull out my phone, using bluetooth to connect to my earbuds and turn on some music. Honestly music always helps walks in my opinion, it makes time go much faster.

Tapping the play button, the strong, motivational notes of - I WANT TO BE YOUR SLAVE by Måneskin - ring throughout my head from my earbuds. I skip down the sidewalk, nodding my head to the beat of the drums.
