Is this what it feels like to be trapped? My body is sluggish, exhausted by the events of today. My chest feels hollow, as if someone stole the beautiful heart that once lay there and replaced it with a ticking time bomb of dread. My fingers are interlaced with Kokoros, and we've been walking for a while now.
So long that I no longer hear the chaos from back at the clearing where I parted with my lover. Even the thought of his blonde spikey hair is enough to make my stomach drop. How long until I see him? Will I ever be free again? "Probably not" I mutter under my breath, staring at the ground.
It was the first thing I've said in what felt like hours. Kokoro glances at me, squeezing my hand slightly, "You know, I could make you forget them" he says, sympathetically.
"No" I say, almost too quickly, "I want my memories back, and if I can't have them all, I just want to remember him" I say, hoping my request gets through to him. "That might get in the way of our relationship though" he says, stopping suddenly. I stop with him, glancing up at his stupid hair and stupid face.
"Don't take them, please.." I plead quietly, making my stomach twist in disgust. "Well, since I am a man of my word, I'll make you a deal" he says, turning his face fully towards me. "If you do everything I tell you to, and..... I mean everything.." he whispers, leaning so close to me, I can feel his breath on my cheeks.
"Then you can keep your memories of your precious boyfriend, and if you disobey.. I'll take away your memory of him bit by bit, making you struggle, knowing that you had someone who cared about you, but they wouldn't ever come back for you or take you from me." He says, extending his free hand to me.
"Do we have a deal Y/N?" He asks, his grin making him look insane. I gulp, feeling a bead of sweat rolling down the back of my neck. This is the only way I remind myself. I take his hand in mine, shaking it slightly. "We do, Darling" I reply with a forced smirk.
"Oh, you two are just adorable!" A high pitched voice squeaks from a nearby tree, I turn quickly, my hands tightening around Kokoro's, letting my smirk slip away. The voice came from a girl slightly older than me with white blonde hair and multiple knives. My gaze flickered over the area around her. Multiple people are standing in a staggered group, watching us, how long they've been there, who knows.
"I agree, they will make a great couple" the tall man next to the blonde says, nodding fondly. "Ah yes, I almost forgot the best part" Kokoro says, releasing one of my hands and gesturing to the group. "This is the league of villians, your new home, isn't that exciting?" He asks, his other hand slipping to my waist, pulling me closer. Test, this is a test, my mind screams, making Kokoro's grin widen. "Of course" I mutter, trying my best to smile instead of scowl.
"You will make a fantastic addition to the team" handy man says, nodding to the purple and black vortex man. Wow, I really need to learn names I think, making a mental note. A portal opens promptly, and everyone begins walking through, leaving Kokoro and I for last. Kokoro slipped his hand from my waist to his hand, pulling me gently towards the portal. I took a deep breath and walked through, to somewhere warmer, nicer, and that had the slight smell of booze.
I opened my eyes, finding myself in a nicely kept bar, I turned my head, examining the quaint bar and remembering where the doors were; one way in and out and what I assumed to be a back room. "Welcome to your new home" the tall man says, suddenly muttering something negative under his breath. "Can I show her to her room, Shigaraki?" The blonde girl rushes to ask, excitement coating her features.
"That's up to Kokoro" handy man says, taking a seat at the bar. "He's her caretaker" he adds, leaning back against the bar, his gaze layering my body with an uneasy feeling. "Can I? It might be nice to make friends" I say, looking up at Kokoro for permission. "Of course" he says, releasing my hand, I quickly bring my hand back to my side, barely feeling the bruises littering my palm.
