Jay’s POV

I groaned in pain as I opened my eyes and saw myself covered in glass, my left arm impaled with one large shard. I tried to move but only felt immense pain as I tried.

“Come on Jay get over it already! It’s just pain~” Rex’s voice echo in my head. I sighed a little and pushed myself up and looked around. The masked man was still here and so was Rex. I shuffled my hand into my pocket and grabbed a syringe that Rex gave me in case something went wrong with our plan, this was probably a good time to use it. I stood up and wobbled from side to side, my head throbbing in pain.

“Hm…Sure I’ll take you to him, but you gotta make a deal with me first.” Rex glanced at me and grinned as I got closer to the masked man, holding the syringe up near his neck.

“What kind of a deal-…?” He was cut off as I stabbed it into his neck, injecting whatever Rex put into it.  He fell to the floor and Rex smirked, kicking the knife away from his hand.

“Surprise! There was actually no deal at all, but I promise you can still see Todd. Sleep for now Blade…You’ll see him soon.” Rex sighed and picked up Blade’s knife. “Good work Jay, do you know where the other one is?” I shrugged and looked around, feeling an agonizing pain in my arm. I winced and looked down at my arm, noticing Rex had just pulled the large shard of glass out of it, only making it feel more painful. He smirked and licked the blood off it making me cringe. I turned away from him and walked into the bathroom, searching for something to stop the pain and noticed something wasn’t right. I looked in the mirror and saw a shadow that wasn’t mine.

“HE’S HERE!” I shouted as I turned to see the man trying to escape. Rex dashed to the bathroom door and blocked it so the man had nowhere else to go. The man fell back in shock and crawled away from Rex.

“Ah James Cog! I’ve been looking for you… You should try and find a better hiding place next time hm?” Rex snatched the syringe off me and injected the last of it into Jim’s neck as he struggled and shouted for help. “Hush, nobody’s going to find you here… Even if they did, I’d do the same thing to them as I’m doing right now to you and your friend.” I watched as his struggles became weaker and weaker until he passed out.

“W-what’s even in that stuff?” I asked as I watched Rex drag him out of the bathroom.

“Well Midazolam of course~ I read about it when I stole that medical journal off that guy in town, don’t worry they’re not dead just knocked out for a short period of time...” Rex mumbled as I helped him drag Jim’s body next to Blade’s. I knew he was going to kill them but why wasn’t he doing it now like he usually does? I wanted to ask, but he never answered “stupid” questions. A jolt of pain ran through my arm again, I swore under my breath as I walked back to the bathroom, grabbing bandages from the cabernet. I wrapped them round my arm till the blood didn’t soak through and tightly tied it up. I was used to getting bad injuries by now but it still hurt like hell, I have no idea how Rex loves it…

I took a painkiller and walked back into the living room, watching as Rex closed the basement door as he dragged the two downstairs by himself. I sighed with relief, glad Rex didn’t give me any chores for the day. I sat down on the sofa and turned on the TV. Time to finally relax…
