Blades POV

I sighed and walked through the dark, cold streets as I approached the train tracks, I kept a good grip on my pocket knife in case one of the creepy folks came up to me and tried to get my money or something. I stepped up onto the tracks, remembering the funny times I used to spent with Todd around here when it was safer, jumping from one plank to the other, smiling as I did so. I remembered accidentally giving Todd terrible nightmares about the train track with my scary horror stories which stopped him from ever coming to play with me on them, it was a bit mean to be honest but at least he understands that it was just stories I made up from the top of my head. I looked down and noticed a thick, dark red liquid marking the floor as if something had been dragged along the tracks but shrugged it off, crime was so common round here that it could have been anyone. I smiled again and skipped down the hill to a brightly lit up, crooked house stopping in front of the door. Todd’s house was nice, it was pretty homely for it being in such a rundown area, but there was one problem. Todd’s brother Jim didn’t necessarily like me that much, in fact he truly hated me. Jim called me a murderer just because I work as one of the royal officers, fucking ridiculous if you ask me. I sighed and knocked on the door. I heard the sound of someone slowly opening the locks of the door from the other side and before I knew it the door was opened.

“What do you want? You know you’re not welcome here…” Jim grumbled as he rubbed his baggy eyes, it looked like he’d just been woken up. I held Todd’s goggles out and smiled under my mask, I don’t know why I’d fake a smile when he can’t see it.

“Todd left these at the arcade and forgot to take them back, I thought he’d need them back as soon as possible…” Jim snatched the goggled from my hands and looked up at me with a confused frown,

“Todd isn’t home yet… How are you here quicker than him?” He asked, as he fiddled with the goggles. I looked down at my watch and checked the time, 10:11pm.

“He left my side 40 minutes ago, I don’t understand… He should be here.” I looked around nervously, did something happen to him? Is Jim going to blame him for not knowing where Todd is?

“You left his side? Fuck…” Jim grabbed his coat and keys and shut his door, glaring at me. Wow I should be a physic, I knew he was going to argue about it now. “You idiot, you know Todd hates the damn dark! Ah crap, he could be anywhere, he could be in trouble, he could be hurt, he could be-“Jim panicked and pushed me aside, fiddling with the goggles again. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before beginning again, “It’s your fault he’s missing, you’re going to help me find him, ok?” I nodded, even though I didn’t approve of that last part. “Right, now do you know where he could be?” I looked down. The blood… That couldn’t have been him right?

“There was a fresh blood trail on the tracks but… I really doubt that’d be him.” I began to slowly rub my arm nervously. It could be, but who would want to hurt Todd? Todd did nothing wrong and he never has unless it was one of…

I looked up at Jim as I felt something click in my brain, “We HAVE to follow that blood trail James, before it’s too late…”
