THE LOOP (Double Lines)

INTRODUCTION

August 12th 2000

It was a breeezy Saturday . Mama had gone into labour , they didn't know if she was going to make out alive . Aunty Shari was there too She managed to hold her down and help her relax , the doctors told mama that she needed to undergo a
caesarean section because her pelvic bones were weak but( because 65%  of pregnancy deaths were recorded from 1992 till date were caused through C- section ) she declined the offer .
Dad wasn't there at that moment , because he was secretly having an affair with a Ghanian woman called Mawusi ,and he was having fun that he forgot his presence at the hospital mattered a lot.

Mums pelvic bone stretch was at a six and a half  , and she needed to get to an eight to procure a safe delivery . Aunty Shari couldn't do much but the pain became so much , she ensured that mum took deep breathes to calm her nerves.

"Doctor , its coming out I can feel it " mama said with so much pain .
The doctor immediately called in his associates and a few nurses to help with the process .
It was a 5% chance that we would make it out alive . Aunty Shari felt like pulling mama's legs when she she saw that the babies were having a hard time coming out , but soon the first baby's head managed to pop out and the body followed suit making it easier for the next one to come out  as her head was slightly smaller than the first . She passed out almost immediately, the immediately attached  a drip , containing liquid that was meant to build her energy levels.
Aunty Shari almost collapsed when it looked like her sister had given up the ghost. The nurses cleaned us up and made sure we were alright.

Dad was there as at the time mama opened her eyes . Aunty Shari had put a call across to him when it looked like mama wasn't going to make it out alive.
He had brought Mawusi with him . He introduced her as his "friend from work" but mom knew better but she didn't say too much because she was weak . Aunty Shari saw the looked on Mawusi's face when dad told mum he loved her , she took her by hand and led out of the ward mum was admitted in , but when they were a few steps from the door . She told Mawusi that she knew about her ridiculous affair with dad and that she was shameless for coming to the hospital with him to see mama , who she was breaking her heart . She told her she would call the police to arrest her if she ever saw her around the family and ordered her to leave . She left though but it didn't sit well with dad. He raised his voice at aunty Shari who in turn slapped him and told him to leave the hospital before she orders the security to throw him out  . He left but Aunty Shari was quick to inform him that he won't see his family again, if he didn't quit the affair.
Aunty Shari had acquired enormous wealth , her had companies in Nigeria and United Kingdom and they were functioning healthily. She was such a big personality , big society men fell at her feet . She was so strong , she didn't talk twice .She didn't think twice before she ordered that mum be discharged and any other medical care she needed would be admitted to her at her house .
She ordered for a lot of baby clothes and items to be bought and delivered to her place .
She fixed the whole birth certificate process.
She placed a restraining order on dad .
Money was indeed a blessing. 

She changed mums line so dad could not reach her and say all those sweet lies to her . After mum recovered aunty Shari told her what happened and why she had to do what she had done. 
Six months had passed but dad and Mawusi were still on . Aunty Shari was so hurt when she had seen them at the fast food she had just established , she ordered for them to be thrown out . She called him that day to inform him that he had one more month to quit the affair before she sends us abroad forever . She had money to work out a permanent residency permit .  Dad was adamant .
She didn't waste time preparing our papers and sending us abroad .
After a year , dad showed up at aunty Shari's door step  but she wanted nothing to do with him . It was like pouring water into a basket  when he talked to her . She was supporting mums decision of dating again that she didn't mention all dad was doing . Until dad , tried to take his life in front of her . Like most phobias , Aunty Shari had a thing for suicide , it made her weak . Her dad had taken his own life when aunty was 15 .The image from that night killed her from the inside . So she put a call across to mum and when mum answered , she let him speak. He apologized, he begged her to not let their marriage die.
Apparently Mawusi had stolen from him and left him high and dry or so he said.
Mama was in love with him so came back for him and of course she carried us along .  Aunty Shari wanted mama's happiness so she let the union be and started a hair business for mama to support her.
Its had been fifteen years since then and each day unraveled new things.
