THE LOOP (Double Lines)

CHAPTER SEVEN

I felt the pieces of my heart fall one after the other for the actual first time , that night Jeremy called June , she put the call on loud speaker and sat on the chair . Valerie pulled me to the side of the fridge ,where she couldn't see us but we could hear her and the call .She smiled as he flattered her and told her how I was just the obstacle between them and how he was looking for a way to break up with me but I was just playing safe . She was the one that was trying to make me look like I treated her and her sister wrongly. She cared less about my feelings , she said she couldn't wait to be with him and she loved him so much .
Valerie helped me get to my room without sobbing . I could feel my tear drops as they fell . I texted him and I told him the relationship was over . He didn't ask why or fight for me . He said okay and after about fifteen minutes we heard June scream "Yes" out of joy I guess.
I took sleeping pills because I couldn't see myself crying over him, when he was absolutely happy .
Valerie slept in my room, she said good things like "you're Valentine Martins , you're beautiful beyond , you're smart and intelligent . Anyone who can't see how beautiful you are , doesn't deserve to be in your life ." before I drifted off to sleep.

The next morning I felt sad but Valerie kept telling me that I am beautiful and Jeremy didn't deserve someone as perfectly made like I was . She said June was so selfish like her mother was and she was sure July was in total support of this .
"The calendar girls are so pathetic . " I said to make myself a little happier but ended up making Val laugh a lot .
We hurried down for break fast just to find out mum already made breakfast . We sat down with her after greeting her the good morning greeting which was so compulsory in every home .
We told mum about some stuff we needed in school and she gave us ten thousand naira each . It was a whole lot coupled with the fact , the school tuitions covered the entire fees needed including books , so when you had run of pages in any book , you could get a new book at the library free of charge , the clinic fees along side the cafeteria fees were also covered and the kitchen from school cooked and served really well. All writing materials were provided by the school , our math sets , calculators , pens , pencils , erasers all had our schools inscriptions and logo on it . Up until now no one was allowed into any hostel building because the buildings were still under renovation .
Our driver wasn't on the morning shift which meant mum was dropping us of at school . We begged mum to also drop June and her sister off . I tried to look bright as June stared me continuously , Val, mum and I sang our favourite song from Phil Collins "find a way to my heart" as we drove off to school too .

ASTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

Mum told Val and I she loved us as soon as she dropped us off , we in turn pecked her on her cheeks and said we loved her too .

Nimi , Naden and Adelaide came to meet me immediately mum drove off , it wasn't any news that I had broken up with Jeremy because we all had a conference video chat together last night where I explained everything as pertaining to my break up with Jeremy and Jeremy getting together with June .
"I'm so sorry about your breakup last night . I hope you're getting better ." Nimi said .
"What baffles me the most is that we are all in the same class , won't they rub it in your face? " Naden said .
" Even if they do rub it in our faces, as long as we are together . We will make sure you won't feel a thing . "
"Looking on the bright side at least Daniel can have space to woo you ." Naden said as we walked to class.
"Daniel is so handsome , I don't think he would even think of me at all ." I said
" Have you seen the way he looks at you ? " Nimi said before we were interrupted by miss Maryanne .
"Valentine I need you in my office right now and , the rest of you . Get to class immediately ."
"Yes ma" We all chorused and I separated from the girls .
My heart skipped as I walked into Miss Marys office . I knew what was about to happen already so I unbuttoned my shirt while she quickly drew the black curtains and locked the door . She put on her music radio and we listened to soft music as I went down on her like I always did . She moaned softly but the music was a bit louder than her. When I turned to leave she rushed at me and kissed me. She didn't say anything , she just turned and walked to her seat .
