Its been three days since Mawusi and her children moved into the house . Mum never talked to her until the day she tried convincing mum to let the driver take her kids to school because we attended the same school . I could vividly remember how she moved to talk with mum in the living room .
"Amelia we need to talk ." Mawusi said but mum was quiet and acted like Mawusi wasn't in front of her .
Mawusi didn't mind either she kept on talking
"Amelia , let your driver also drop my kids in school too , since the kids all attend the same school . " but even after she made this sentence mum didn't move , she just kept pressing her phone. You could tell mums attitude was beginning to offend Mawusi . She tapped mum lightly and said "Amelia I'm speaking to you . "
Mum just stood up and tried to walk away from the living room but Mawusi blocked her passage way . It was then mum said ,
"Mawusi get out of my way ." but Mawusi was reluctant , she said "Let my kids pair up with your kids when they are to attend school . "It was then mum answered her
"The reason you wanted Maxwell and his main house was because you thought he was the one with the cash flow now you're in the house you fought to enter , I hope you understand the cash flows through me and I make it available to my family and clearly you're not my family and let this be last time you try to come close to me or my family, I will throw you out of my house ." Mawusi still said "If you throw me Maxwell will go as well. "
"Divorcing Maxwell and letting you guys out of my gate is my prayer point right now . Unlike you I don't chase men , they chase me ." Mum said and walked passed because Mawusi moved away .
Val and I never spent time with June and July . We watched TV in our separate rooms even though mum didn't allow either Mawusi or her daughters in the living room.
Dad tried talking to mum about the rules and cash flow because both he and Mawusi didn't have jobs but mum never responded to his pleas. When Val and I tried to talk to mum she shunned us and gave warns about going close to Mawusi and her children . Her hurt was visible to her eyes . She did weird things at times like breaking glass cups just to feel better . I was beginning to think she was bipolar. Now I understood this quote by Friedrich"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness ." - Friedrich Nietzsche
She was in pain and it seemed like no one else could see and feel the pain except her and when we talked about dad and Mawusi it broke her heart. She didn't want them around her but circumstances made her keep them . I talked to Valerie and helped to open her eyes to mum's pain , so we decided to support mum in all she did and every decision she made till her pain faded away . After all she was our mother it was only right for us to stand for her happiness over any other persons own . We didn't go around Mawusi or her children even when our parents had all gone out and Val and I sat in the dinning taking fruits , the moment June and July joined us we stood up and left them . June was quick to speak as we turned to leave that day . She said " You act like we disgust you but you guys are the terrible ones .We are supposed to act like siblings ....
But Valerie wasn't having it that day, she quickly interrupted her " Now Let me remind you this is my mother's house not your fathers house and you don't stand inside it and call us terrible people . "
July stood to talk but Valerie continued
"Your mum was the reason why my mum was neglected during her pregnancy , so shut up. We don't need your family bond . You guys will always be intruders and never our family ."
"Oh! Shut up Valerie ." June said but my anger had risen in my silence . I quickly rushed at her and gave her two resounding slaps saying "Don't talk to my sister like that ." , July rushed at Valerie and a fight started among all of us . Mawusi and dad entered almost immediately and separated us . Mawusi pointed out that Val and I were at fault , and dad supported her . Val screamed at dad "You are a disappointment as a father , how dare you stand here and choose a woman's opinion over your own children ." She left just immediately after saying that .
Dad turned to look at me when Val left but I didn't say anything instead I dialed mums number as I moved away from them . We explained everything to mum , it made her furious . It was raining when she came back with some army men Aunty Shari had sent to start working with mum . Mum had Dad and Mawusi thrown outside the gate and she instructed June and July to sweep the entire house hold and the two guest rooms where the solider men would be staying at .
The next morning mum had found out that Dad and Mawusi had stayed in front of the house under the rain , then she allowed them inside to take a hot shower and rest properly.
That day June and July avoided Val and I , even after mum left , no body came to disturb us or query us about what transpired between everyone . They rejected the food Timi served them but we weren't accepting that food was to be thrown away so we decided to serve it ourselves . We got a bigger tray and carried the food and we went to serve it . We knocked twice before they opened the door for us . We could tell they were surprised and probably they felt like we had come to apologize by the little grins on their faces but we handed the tray to them and Valerie was quick to say "We don't accept food being thrown away in this house . " before we turned and left them .
