Latin Translation: Stage 6

Pugna (Fight):

Clemens walks to the market. The huge crowd was in the market. The slaves and the slave girls were buying food. Many bakers sell bread.  The poet recites. The greek merchant is having an argument with the farmer. The merchant is angrily demanding the money. Suddenly, the greek farmer punched him while the farmer was cursing. The Pompeians laugh and the farmer falls. Clemens, after hearing the outroar, hurried to the fight. The Pompeians praised the farmer for being brave.

Felix: 

Many Pompeians are drinking wine in the shop. Clemens enters the shop. Suddenly Clemens yells, "Felix!" Clemens greets Felix happily. Felix is a freedman. 

Clemens invited Felix to his house. Clemens and Felix enter the house. Clemens searches for Caecilius and Metella. Caecilius is writing in the Study. Metella is sitting in the garden. Caecilius and Metella hurry to the reception hall and Felix greets them. After Quintus enters the reception hall, Felix watches the young man. The freedman was very moved, he was almost crying; but is laughing. 

Then Clemens hurried to the kitchen. Grumio is sleeping in the kitchen. Clemens woke up (The word for Woke Up is "Excitavit," which almost means aroused)  the cook and told the whole story. The cook, because he was happy, prepared a really good dinner.

Felix et fur (Felix and the Thief):

After dinner, Quintius asked, "Father, why is Felix a freedman now? He was once your slave." 

Then the father told the whole story.

Caecilius: Felix was once writing in the study. Felix was alone. Clemens and Grumio were searching for food in the market. Metella was out because she was visiting her sister

Felix: Your father was out because he was looking for a banker in the market. 

Caecilius: No one was in the house except for Felix and the baby. The little baby was sleeping in the bedroom. Suddenly the thief entered through the door. The thief quietly looked around: quietly entered the bedroom, where the baby was. Felix heard nothing because he intently working. The thief carried the small baby quietly out of the house. Suddenly, the baby started wailing. Felix, after hearing the screaming, hurried out of the study at once. "Crook!" Felix yelled angrily and punched the thief fiercely. Felix nearly killed the thief. Yes, Felix saved the small baby.

Felix: Master, after hearing about it, was happy and freed me. I am therefore a freedman.

Quintus: But who was the baby?

Caecilius: It was you!
