It was not an uncommon sight to see Ainsley Stark storm her way down the corridor at Midtown School of Science and Technology, earphones on and music blasting she was a force to be reckoned with. Her reputation exceeded her, she was cold and ruthless, to hit first and ask questions later. And god forbid the person who got in her way or crossed her. She made it less than obvious that she did not care for any of them. There was only one person in the entire school she could stand.
Michelle 'MJ' Jones had known Ainsley for years since they were both 12 and had been around to witness her slowly crumble. She could remember the days when Ainsley would smile at people in the corridor, or when she would stop to help someone who would trip over. Hell she could even remember when she would talk happily about Steve Rogers and how happy it made her father. Yet MJ had watched on as Steve Rogers left taking that young girl with him. But she couldn't find it in herself to ever leave the girl behind. She knew deep down that girl still remained and only hoped that she would see her again. And despite everything that Ainsley did MJ still considered them best friends, for they did spend time together outside of school and sometimes just sometimes she felt as though Ainsley didn't truly hate the world as she claimed too.
Therefore, when MJ approached the dark haired girl she was greeted with an almost unnoticeable smile. The two stood by the lockers and spoke quietly between the pair commenting on the others students who walked the hallway. For MJ had a distaste for the fellow people at her school too. Aware that despite the school meaning to be for the academic and gifted youth, it was awfully full of blunder heads and students it would appear only were there due to it being one of the few schools in the local district.
For a Wednesday morning it would appear that the world had obviously not got up on the right foot. Ainsley was oddly tuned into the lingering eyes that seemed to bore into her and had done since school begun at 8:30 that morning. It was just before lunch when that stare had finally gotten to her enough to cause a stir. She only stood at her locker putting away her chemistry book when she could once again feel the almost threatening stare.
And with the echoing clash of her locker door slamming shut she spun on her foot to face whoever decided they wanted to challenge her. She wasn't surprised to come face to face with the so called 'queen bee' of the school. Liz Toomes was one of the worst examples of a teenaged girl Ainsley had ever come across. She was spoilt, pretentious and thought she claimed the right to be the most talked about person in the school. Just because her father was supposed to be some big shot business owner. Ainsley was the daughter of Tony Stark. That was enough for her to be a threat in Liz's eyes.
"Got a crush on me Toomes?" Ainsley taunted raising an eyebrow at said girl.
"I would never like someone as lowly as you Stark" Liz shot back
"Ohh I'm so offended. Why else are you staring at me like I'm some sort of pariah then shortcake?" Ainsley started to walk towards the all be it slightly shorter girl. Ainsley would never admit she wasn't overly tall but in comparison Liz was the height of a 12 year old and therefore Ainsley towered over her.
"You're really a menace to society, no wonder your mother abandoned you." Liz snapped trying anything to falter the girl who's steps only seemed to get more vicious as she quickly closed the distance between them.
"Ooooh the 'your mum left you' try something original next time sweetie." Ainsley spit as she felt the constant hum of the energy that ran through her veins as her chaotic energy built fueling the negative emotions she felt. Now Liz Toomes was not dumb, rather the opposite really. But in that moment she lacked judgement and went for the route of hoping that by saying something negative about her father would stop the aggressive girl in her tracks.
"Or maybe its because she saw your father for the waste of space he really is-" Liz did not get to finish her sentence before she was hit in the face with a incredibly powerful punch from Ainsley. Though Ainsley did not stop there rather she tackled the older girl to the floor and continued to throw punch after punch. The humming of her chaotic energy only fulling the attack on and clouding her judgement.
It took four of the male teachers to pull Ainsley off Liz the younger girl kicking and squirming around in their arms letting out shouts of protest after being taken off her 'victim'. Liz Toomes to the shock of many around them was able to sit rather unsupported once the younger girl had been pulled off her. Though she sported what would definitely become a black eye and what could be assumed to be a broken nose if the blood coming out of it was no surprise.
And that was what led a rather smart looking Tony Stark to be sat in the principles office with his daughter at his side. His fingers rubbing at the bridge of his nose as he listened to the lecture the principle was giving him about his daughters behaviour. This was the third time this academic year they had been in this office and it was only just coming to the first days of October. He glanced over at his daughter who had her head down and was fiddling with her fingernails. He sensed the general sparking in the air that he had from years of experience learnt belonged to her powers.
"Mr Stark we are aware that Miss Stark has got anger issues and that from all accounts she was provoked. Therefore, we only request she has the rest of the week off school and returns on Monday morning hopefully calmer. Though I do suggest you reconsider getting her some additional counselling or signing her up for the school counsellor." Though Tony tuned out the voice of the principle who's name he couldn't be bothered to learn. And soon enough the father-daughter duo were out of the building and heading back to the tower they called their home.
Upon entering the tower the pair spoke no words until sat at the kitchen island a tub of Ben and Jerry's between them. Tony gave his daughter and expectant look.
"I know I said I would try to reduce the fighting this year. New year new me kinda thing. But they had the audacity to blame you for Caroline leaving. As if it wasn't the bitches fault and fake pretence that caused it all." Explained Ainsley as she watched her father raise his eyebrow at her calling her mother by her first name. He did it every time she did that because he had tried to install in the young girl that despite her walking out on them she would forever be her mother.
That obviously had not worked effectively on the young girl.
