Ainsley had not been at ease the entire weekend, she had spent the majority of it pacing around her room the amount of energy she felt through her veins was enough for her to flatten an entire level of the training section of the house. Her father had waved the destruction off and had rather settled to trying to talk to her about what she had discovered.

Once again the pair sat at the island in the kitchen a pot of Ben and Jerry's between them. Both of them in the matching tinted glasses a sight that was unusual and had been since Katherine was no longer with them. Without Katherine's constant promising of her glasses being a strength showing she could overcome anything, Ainsley had instead taken to seeing them as a negative thing, a weakness. And she hated anything that would paint her as weak, therefore the glasses only came out when entirely necessary.

"Ains, I know you are against this soulmate situation" Tony started receiving a small hum of agreement from his daughter before continuing he pushed his own glasses up the bridge of his nose looking directly through the green tint. "But you should rethink, give it a chance the Parker kid isn't bad. He's got good morals and he's loyal." Tony attempted to reason though he only got a look and a head tilt in response. It would seem that wouldn't be enough for his daughter the ever stubborn girl who wouldn't ever state something positive about the soulmate part of their modern day society.

"He's got the good of the people at his forefront. He cares about all big or small. He's not like other kids your age." Tony spoke again watching as she continued to just scoop out of the tub. Rubbing his temples he didn't know what way to approach. He didn't know the route cause of her true hatred of soulmates. He knew she was never fond of them before he met Steve but her true hatred of them had only been a thing for the past year or so.

"Just tell me Ains, why are you so against having anything with the kid? Why are you so against even considering that a soulmate could be a good thing?" Tony let out a sigh as she seemed to pause her spoon hovering in the air. He thought it unlikely his daughter would give him much of a response or even a useful insight into her thought pattern.

"This whole soulmate thing is a fraud. They're suppose to bring out the best of you? Caroline faked her way into being your soulmate and then ran high and mighty when she found her actual one tearing a whole family apart. Steve he came in all high and noble and tried to fake being a perfect person. But he was selfish and he destroyed his relationship with everyone for someone he thought was worth saving. Both of them nearly destroyed you. Both 'soulmates' of my dad nearly cost me my father. They nearly took the only person in the entire world who I love. Soulmates leave a dangerous path of destruction as soon as they make themselves known." Ainsley spurted out her eyes brimming with tears and she put her spoon down and turned her eyesight to a single spot on the table.

"Oh sweetie what happened to me is just the world paying karma for all the wrong I've done. I spent years toying with people before your mother so I was toyed with in response. Steve was just something that couldn't have been stopped. But you've never done anything that will mean something like that will happen to you. I mean look at Katherine and Happy. Happy never harmed her did he?" Tony tried to console his daughter before he brought her into his arms.

"But Katie hurt Happy when she left. She hurt everyone when she left. The world is so mean dad. So so mean." she trailed off tears now fully falling as her emotions became more than what she could hold in. And through consoling her Tony knew his little girl was still there. He shouldn't have ever questioned it for he always knew his little girl the sweet girl who appreciated life more than anything was still there. She was just too hurt and put off by the ugliness which is the Stark lines of fate to be able to show herself.

"I miss Katie dad." "I do too Bub."

By the time Monday morning had rolled along Ainsley had still not warmed up to the idea of even giving the Parker kid the time of day. Rather she had just promised her father she wouldn't physically do anything that would harm him. Oh she was also not suppose to call him anything rude to his face but that might be more of a challenge than Tony expected so he just asked her to keep it minimum.

Therefore, she had compromised with herself to just avoid Peter Parker like he was a deadly virus. Ainsley stalked her way through the corridor scowling at anyone who dared attempt to make eye contact with her. Already in a bad mood and it was only 8:45am. She slipped her way into her physics class and into her seat right at the back just before the bell rang. Getting her book out she looked up to see what the lessons topic would be based on, yet she caught sight of an ever so familiar blob of hair.

When could she tell who Parker was from the back of his head? Actually no when was he apart of her physics class and how come she only knew this now? That was when she realised she hadn't spent too long pondering about the boy and he had turned around. Most normal people would look away in embarrassment for being caught but this was Ainsley Stark. Rather she dropped her face into a glare and raised an eyebrow tempting the boy to do anything. And she was satisfied when he quickly realised who it was and turned back to face the front.

She was Ainsley Stark and she didn't need no teenaged web slinger to be complete.
