Steve Rogers was on his way to the Tower he never thought he would see again. He could recall the day he left as clear as anything. He could remember the way he had said goodbye to Ainsley like he was coming back the next morning. But what he could recall the most and what still plagued his nightmares was the look on Anthony Stark's face down in that building as he begged Steve to stay. To put whatever was between them behind him and to come home. How he had begged and even offered to do something to help Bucky. And the way that he could physically see the heartbreak on Tony's face when he told him it wasn't possible.

Yet here he was stood now in the lift surprised that the biometric recognition software still granted him access. It was almost as if Tony always hoped he'd have come back. The feeling of nostalgia he felt pushing said door open and entering the living room was intense. The room had barely changed since he left the only difference being that the pictures that once sat on the fireplace and walls with him and the two Starks in it were gone. Rather they were replaced with photos of Ainsley and Tony or Ainsley and a mystery boy. He assumed this was the same mystery boy Tony had called him about only hours prior.

He headed through to the kitchen and came across a sight that used to be ever so familiar to him. For sat at the breakfast bar was no other than Ainsley stark her head down eating from a pot of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. She had grown significantly since the last time he saw her, an almost dark aura seemed to surround her. He was about to make his presence known but before he had the chance she looked up. She looked both up and through him and for the first time in a while Steve Rogers felt nervous. It would appear he had every right to as the spoon that was once in her hand was very rapidly flying through the air and directly at his face. He had to react quickly to dodge said spoon.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing here?" She questioned though her question came out in such a manner that Steve felt compelled to answer as though this was an all powerful being.

"Ainsley Maria, that is no way to treat someone who's come to help" And Steve felt himself stop breathing for a second. That was the voice that he often heard in his dreams. The voice of the man he still loved but was too much of a coward to ever talk to and apologise to. A voice he'd never thought he'd hear again until the phone call.

"I don't want him here. I don't want him anywhere near you." Ainsley turned towards her father and Steve could swear he saw the purple energy swirl around her and start moving towards him. That energy he could remember helping her to control all those years ago. At that point she seemed to have had control over it what had happened?

"He's here to help Peter. Just think of Peter okay? Don't worry about anything else. I'll be okay." Tony had managed to soothe his daughter and Steve watched as the energy seemed to return to the young girl.

"What's the kids position currently?" Steve found himself asking determining to stick to the thing he had been called in for knowing that now was not the time to start trying to fix the damaged relationship between the three.
