Thankfully, it did not take long for Merlyn to use the servants' secret passages to get to Vivian's chambers where her perfectly made bed was waiting on her. Seeing the bed brought Merlyn a sigh of relief. Her shoulder was aching badly from the strain of having any such weight on it. Merlyn was relieved as she threw Vivian onto the bed. As the spell slipped her into a coma like sleep, the jostle did not wake her as Merlyn knew it wouldn't. The Lady was going to sleep for sometime whilst the spell gradually wore off.
Merlyn pushed herself back up to her full height and stared down at the woman before her. She was beautiful and elegant. One look at her told everyone she was royalty; she was a perfect example of the bride Uther pictured for his son and Camelot. And Merlyn knew this fact as well as the idea that many people would celebrate a marriage between the prince and a foreign ruler - it brought advantages to Camelot and connections, everything Merlyn didn't have. Envy ran through Merlyn like poison before it was overtaken by a deep sadness and pain at knowing she could never provide either making their marriage virtually an impossibility. But there was nothing to be done.
Merlyn heavily sighed before she went to leave through the servant's door when something caught her attention on the floor beside the bed. The servant's face furrowed in intrigue as she moved towards the item on the floor. Only to gasp as she realised it was a lock of blonde hair, darker than that of Vivian's. Merlyn quickly bent down and picked up the hair, her mind snapping immediately back to the hair she had found in Arthur's bed that had not been his. Reaching into her belt, Merlyn pulled free the hair she had found in Arthur's room and studied the separate locks. They certainly weren't from the same head of hair.
Looking over at Vivian, Merlyn quickly moved and held the locks of hair near Vivian's hair to see if either matched. One did! The one found in Arthur's bed was indeed Vivian's hair. And it didn't take a genius to figure out that the other lock of hair was most likely Arthur's. But why on earth where cut locks of their hair in each other's chambers?
Suddenly, Leon's suggestion ran through Merlyn's mind again. He had questioned whether or not something magical had happened that had caused Arthur's sudden change of emotions. But was he right? Merlyn bit her lip as she studied the locks of her once again. Was she just wishing this was magic and finding evidence where there was none or were Vivian and Arthur enchanted by a spell that used a lock of hair?
Merlyn had to study this. With determination, Merlyn clutched the hair tightly and swiftly moved out of Vivian's guest chambers and headed straight for her own to consult her magic books that she prayed held the answer.

Merlyn felt like she was drowning.
Her magic books were full of spells that involved locks of hair especially love spells. Unfortunately, there were hundreds of spells. She had hidden herself away in her room with her magic books surrounding her upon her small single bed, each one was sprawled open upon a page.
It turned out there was over 636 love spells in her books with over 150 of them involving a lock of hair. Merlyn was baffled as to why there was so many spells that all basically did the exact some job. All Merlyn knew for certain was that she had to get the right spell otherwise there was going to be some serious complications - if Merlyn picked the wrong counterspell than there was a chance of bad consequences such as Arthur being turned into a toad or Vivian losing all her hair. Events that would be monetarily funny and then disastrous. Merlyn just had no idea which counterspell to chose.
"Merlyn, what are you doing?" someone spoke pulling Merlyn out of the revenue she had found herself in. Recognising the voice, Merlyn tilted her head as she ran her fingers through her hair for the hundredth time, the strands frazzled with the repeated action. Gaius was stood within her doorway staring at the scene before him in confusion and concern - he had no idea what had gotten Merlyn into such a tired and aggravated mood.
