"Aunt Erin, this is seriously amazing, thank you both!" I exclaimed, running up to my new car. It was a baby blue 1980 Mazda GLC. It had a tan interior and cloth seats. I couldn't be any more thankful. The old owner passed me the keys and I ran to jump into my aunt and uncle's arms.
"Okay, dear, we have to go now. Be safe and be home by nine. Tell Niall I said hi!" Aunt Erin gushed. She loved Niall like her own child. He came over quite often when I wasn't working. He was such a butt kisser when it came to my aunt and uncle. It was anything, but surprising.
I squealed one more time before getting into my new car. I thrust the keys into the ignition and it started with a loud rumbling noise. Before I started, I readjusted the seats and mirrors. With a deep breath, I turned on the radio and drove off into the street.
Driving wasn't as easy as I remember. Maybe because I hadn't done it in a while, but it was nerve-wracking. The speed limit through town was about twenty-five and I already felt like I was going too fast. Hopefully, it will get more comfortable in time.
I was meeting the whole group at the park for some nature walk. I don't know what exactly it was. They wanted to do it and I just wanted to spend time with them. I pulled into a rock parking lot and saw everyone chatting around Louis' car. I parked next to them and was greeted by hugs and hellos.
"Why weren't you and Styles at school for the past three days? What'd he do?" Niall interrogated.
"He didn't do anything. Someone, who I am guessing is Ashleigh, told the principal that Harry and I were fucking behind the bleachers during class. We weren't, but the principal didn't believe us and got us suspended," I explained. I got a tinge of anger every time I told the story. I was leaving the whole fighting with Harry thing out in hopes we would be able to talk it out soon. That is, if he was willing to talk it out with me. He seemed pretty angry.
"That's awesome," Louis said sarcastically, "Pretty badass too. Just saying," He put his hands up in the air. I chuckled and shook my head. Of course, that's what Louis would get out of it.
Zayn walked up to the group with a map in hand, "You guys ready to go or what? Let's get our nature hike on."
I can't believe I was wasting my afternoon walking through the park. Maybe I wasn't wasting it because I was with my friends, but I didn't want to walk through some hiking trail with a bunch of bugs. I hated bugs. Ever since I went to a bug exhibit in fourth grade, they've crept me out. Especially spiders. That's not very much of a surprise though.
Zayn started to lead us to the trail. He wasn't very good with direction so Liam took over. We all trusted him with getting us to the right place. He was the most mature and trust-worthy one here, even though he was the youngest besides Niall and I. It doesn't make sense that the oldest, Louis, is the most immature. He's already almost nineteen. He's still in school because he got held back a year for who knows what.
I trailed slightly behind everyone talking with Eleanor. Amanda couldn't make it due to some group projects. Eleanor was filling me in on all that's been going on at school. It felt like the couple days I wasn't there, WWIII occurred. According to Eleanor, who heard from Louis, An exchange student had shown up, lit the chemistry lab on fire, fought a teacher, and left all in the same day. How crazy is that? That explains why the school was asking for funds in the newspaper.
"Did anything else actually happen between you and Harry? You seem a bit down today," Eleanor slid her arm around my waist. I laid my head on her shoulder as we continued walking. I could trust Eleanor with this stuff. She was never against Harry and I being friends. Instead, she was the opposite. She always bugged me about how cute of a couple we'd be and how much we already acted like a couple. She said we only needed to make it official.
"He, uh, he said some things about it being my fault and got really mad. We haven't talked since then. We haven't even talked at work. I only saw him once and that's when he walked in on me having a dance party to ABBA," I chuckled lightly at the memory. Eleanor shook her head at my playfulness.
"Are you going to talk to him?"
"Yeah. I miss him so much it's insane. I just feel like time is what both of us need. The good thing about all of this thinking I've been doing is I finally figured out how I felt about him."
"I knew it. You guys are so adorable it's sickening, but you can't wait around forever. He's a very eligible bachelor and girls in town are lining up to be with him. You need to make the move first," Eleanor beamed. She was right. Harry was obviously such a good guy and I bet he could be moving on soon. I had to make my move before it was too late.
"You're right. I can't keep these feelings to myself anymore. Thank you, you are the best at giving advice!" I squealed and gave her a tight hug, "but how am I supposed to do it?"
"Careful now, I don't want to explode," she warned with a bright smile, "and that's something you need to figure out yourself. I don't know Harry that well, but anything you do he thinks the world of. He's probably going to be relieved that he didn't have to do it himself. There are only certain men in life that you need to put your effort towards and for you, I think Harry is one of them. Seriously let go of me now, I think I'm losing my breath.
"Yeah, Louis would kill me," I joked, loosening my grip.
"Who am I killing?" Louis shouted from the front. We both giggled and jogged up to the rest of the group.
I was going to do it. I was going to tell Harry how amazing he makes me feel. I hope he reciprocates those feelings. I would be devastated if he didn't, but I would have to accept his decision. Whatever it may be.

"This is the best pizza ever. Thanks, Mrs.Harper!" Niall exclaimed while gathering the fourth piece of pizza. After our trip, Niall came home with me to watch movies and chill. Aunt Erin, being the awesome aunt she is, made homemade pizza. She grew most of the ingredients in her garden.
"You can call me Erin, dear," she said while handing him a napkin. He had a piece of cheese stuck to the side of his cheek. I chuckled as he wiped it off.
"So what movie do you want to watch? Anything good?" Niall asked with his mouth completely full.
"That new movie, The Breakfast Club, is on VHS. Uncle John picked it up a couple of days ago. I heard it's really good," I suggested. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, Uncle John loved all of the new trends and this movie was one of them. He tried to play it off like he thought I would enjoy it, but we all knew he wanted to watch it too.
"Sounds good. Do you guys have popcorn?" Niall questions while tossing his paper plate into the garbage.
"Obviously. We only have stove popcorn, if that's okay?" Uncle John says. Niall nods and follows me into the living room. I searched for the new VHS tape. The bookshelf we kept our tapes on was almost full. Childhood memories and various movies filled the shelves. After scanning the first few shelves, I found the tape. It was thrown on top of everything else, without care. The case was hard to open, but I got it eventually. The tape was shiny and new. I carefully slipped it into our VHS player and met Niall back on the couch. I rested my back against the arm of the couch and my feet laid across Niall's lap.
The screen started to show colors and after some time, the picture cleared up. The beginning credits started to roll and my aunt and uncle met us in the living room with two bowls of popcorn. I sat up and leaned into Niall because we had to share. His arm fell around my shoulders and rested around me protectively. He was such a big brother to me. When we first started becoming friends rumors of us dating spread, but those quickly diminished. We both just had a connection I didn't have with anyone else, not even Harry. It's like we immediately connected. He's such an unbelievably amazing friend. Throughout the time I've been here, he's become more family than friend.
I grabbed a handful of popcorn and crunched on it quietly. The movie was actually really good. It had a great balance of funny and serious scenes. I'm sure it would be a classic for years to come.
Once the movie was over, Niall went home. He wouldn't go unless we gave him a leftover container with pizza in it. I cuddled up in my pj's and went to bed. I had to work tomorrow and it was going to be the day I talked to Harry.
