I've been staying with Niall for about a week now. It's actually worked out really well. I was forever thankful for his family's kindness. Having him around all of the time has been quite nice too. Every time I get into a bad mindset, I go to his room and we hang out.
I still think about Harry and how much I miss him, but things are getting better. I can finally look at our pictures without crying. Unfortunately, now, he's more of a memory. I know the possibilities of seeing him again are low therefore, I don't hope for it. I'll only end up disappointing myself. I'd even started boxing up all of the things he'd given me. The shirts and sweaters. I kept his paper airplane necklace on. I liked it whether or not it reminded me of him. It was quaint and matched most of my clothings. I'd only filled one tote with his belongings; it was pushed under my bed. I didn't want to get rid of them. I also didn't want to have them out as a keepsake.
This weekend Niall and I are going to hang out with the whole crew. We hadn't done that in a long time with everything going on. We were meeting up at our normal spot downtown. I hope Eleanor was going to be there. Since she spent all of her free time with Louis, I highly doubted that she'd miss it. Last time I saw her was before Harry left.
She knew he left, courtesy of Louis. I didn't mind Louis telling her either. It was better than me having to explain it for the hundredth time. People that I didn't know from school were coming up to me asking where he left. Even Ashleigh came up to me. I almost smacked the plastic right out of her ass, but dealing with the consequences was not something I was in dire need of.
I sported jeans, a baby blue blouse that had a loose bow hanging from the collar, and a jean jacket. On my feet was my black converse. I had my light brown waves brushed out and barely hitting my collarbone. With the sun shining, you could spot the natural tints and shades in my hair.
I layered on some cherry chapstick and clasped my necklace around my neck. It was very rare that I was spotted without it. If I could keep one thing of his close to my heart, it'd be that. I walked to my shared bathroom and spun around in the full-length mirror that hung on the wall. To finish my outfit off, I tucked the blouse into my pants and fastened it with a black belt. I turned around once again to double-check that I looked okay. I ran a brush through my hair again and sprayed some body spray.
"Are you ready El?" Niall asked from the hallway.
"Yeah, I'm coming. Let me grab my bag and I will meet you downstairs," I went back into my room and flung my purse across my shoulder. It was a black crossbody bag that Eleanor had given to me. She had gotten a new one and knew I loved this one. It was just big enough to hold all of my items.
I hopped down the wooden stairs and Niall stood at the bottom of them with his car keys in hand. The day was supposed to be chilly, but sunny so he had aviator sunglasses on. I think he was finally trying to up his fashion game because he looked like he actually put thought into his look today. He had on a pair of black pants and a plain white shirt tucked in. Over the top of it, he had a blue plaid coat. He didn't look like a teenage boy though his cheeky grin gave his age away instantly.
I met him at the bottom and followed him out of the house and into his car. He turned the key in the ignition and started it. He usually backed into his driveway so he could easily pull out. We turned left onto the street and started driving down the road.
"Okay, be honest, how do I look?" Niall asked, patting his pants down with his free hand. A single bead of nervous sweat dribbling down his forehead.
"I was getting ready to comment on it. You look great. Who're you trying to impress?" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows.
"There's this worker at the diner. She's new and last time I went there alone, she was flirting the whole time," he explained. A faint blush appeared on his cheeks.
