Part five - An announcement

You finally arrived at the offices and got settled at your desk. About 2 hours went by and you needed a drink. On entering the kitchen you were greeted by Shayne. He was wearing a white shirt layered with a red flannel, paired with light blue jeans cuffed to show off his black high top vans. You couldn't help but stop in your tracks and stare for a second. Then you came to your senses and proceeded to get a coffee
"Hey Shayne." you said confidently, edging closer too the coffee machine he was using.
"Uh hi. Hello. Hi!" He said startled.
"Sorry did i scare you." you giggled.
"No, no. Haha no." he said trailing off on the last 'no'.
"Mind if I..." you said gesturing to the coffee machine.
"Uh what. Oh i'm yeah of course. Go ahead." He fumbled with his words and tried his best to keep eye context with you but grew redder by the second.
"You alright then?" You asked getting a cappuccino ready.
"Yeah um yeah i'm good. Um, there's something i wanted to talk to you about though." He said looking at the ground leaning back on his heels with his hands in his pockets.
"Go ahead. I don't bite." You gave him a smile as he finally looked up at you and reciprocated the smile.
"Well um..." He started before being interrupted by Ian yelling from the meeting room
"TEAM MEETING! I need the Smosh squad, games squad and Y/N! STAT!"
(ME! WHY DOES HE NEED ME?) you thought to yourself.
"Hey tell me later?" you said to Shayne placing a hand on his arm.
"Yeah, Yeah okay. Walk with me to the meeting room?" He said more confidently.
"Sure." You said while sipping your coffee and following the beautiful blonde man out of the kitchen.

You all got seated around a large table, Courtney had a two seats next to her free so you sat by her and Shayne sat the other side of you.
"Hey.Good to see you again, we thought you might not want to come back " Courtney said joking.
"Hey! No way I could miss a day here." you replied "I had to see you all again!"
"Awh! Courtney replied "We should go get coffee sometime! Just us girls!"
"Sounds good!" you said before your voice was overtaken by Ian yelling "OKAY!" Everyone's voices quieted down. "As you know, we normally have our SMOSH WINTER GAMES! A few weeks later in the year." He chanted. "However." he paused which provoked worry amongst the squad.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HOWEVER?" Mari yelled.
"You can't take this away from us!" Lasercorn added dramatically.
"Don't tell me Anthony took the kids, the car and winter games after the divorce! NOO!" Shayne said, causing everyone to burst out laughing, including you. You playfully slapped him on the arm. His laugh turned into a smile as his face turned crimson.
"No no no!" Ian proceeded. "SMOSH WINTER GAMES! is happening.... In one week!"
Everyone started cheering and wooing.
"And also, Shayne," Ian started again. "Anthony didn't take the car either i got that." he said in an accent.
You all cheered even louder at his joke. "So as you know, Boze has unfortunately left us."
"I LOVE YOU BOZE!" Joven said standing up and looking to the sky.
"She's not dead man!" Keith said.
"Anywayyyy, since the teams will be uneven, Y/N will be joining us!"
Everyone cheered the loudest they had cheered all day. The shock you felt was overwhelmed by love and excitement. As the cheering went down Damien yelled "Yes pumpkin!!"
the whole room went quiet
"Pumpkin?!" Noah asked.
"THANKS DAMES!" you blurted while your face turned bright red.
You tried to hide behind your hands as Damien told the squad the reasoning behind your nickname.
Everyone was questioning Damien and the noise in the room grew. You however managed to hear a faint whisper in your right ear "I think it's cute" You realised it was Shayne talking to you which made your face go red further.
"Okay everyone since you'll all need to pack, i'm letting you off early. GO GET SOME REST!" Ian yelled over the noise.
Before you could get out of your seat Olivia Sarah and Mari came up to you and Courtney and pulled you away from Shayne.
"We're all going to go out tonight and wondered if you wanted to come Y/N." Sarah said
"Yeah! Sort of like a winter games christening." Mari giggled.
"Um" you said.
"Pleaseeeee." The girls said almost in unison.
"Um, yeah sounds great! Text me the details Court." you replied.
As the girls dispersed, you looked back to see Shayne was gone and the room was now empty with just you stood in the corner.
"So much for that chat." You said to yourself.
