Chapter: Six

(Flashback)
AUTHORS P.O.V
After confessing that day, Jimin didn't hesitate to show more affection to the maknae, but it always ended up with him getting rejected.

One time it happened when they just finished their practice. Everyone went to eat their dinner that their manager bought. After the meal, everyone decided whether to stay and practice more or go home to rest. Along with the rap line and Jin, Jimin decided to stay and practice his vocals more. He approached Jungkook, asking him for some help with it and to stay with him, but the maknae refused and apologized.
"I'm sorry hyung, Tae hyung and I talked about playing Overwatch. We'll be heading back to the dorm. You could ask for some help from Jin hyung, our vocal coach too if that doesn't work." Jungkook stated, making Jimin frown a bit. He nodded sadly and watched Jungkook and Taehyung walk away together. Jin, who was observing the sight in front of him, sighed and patted the younger's back. Jimin sighed, sad that it didn't work. His jealousy bubbled a bit, underneath the surface, at the sight.
"Why does he always hang out with Tae? It's not like I don't want them to, but why does he always have to push me away? Does he hate me that much?" Jimin burst out, angry and sad at Jungkook's rejections.
"You're over thinking again Jimin,. Stop it." The older one said, making the younger sigh and nod. Making up his mind, Jimin decided to work on his vocals to distract him from the recent rejection.
"I'll go get some lessons from our vocal coach. I'll see you later hyung." Jimin said, not wanting to get angry at him for no reason, and left his hyung who was about to practice the choreography more.

There were also times when they were on camera, whether it being a V-live, interview, or before a show. Jimin would make conversation or play with Jungkook but the maknae would always reject him and go play with Taehyung instead. This caused the other two to have more interactions, making the fans ship them so hard, and that made him jealous.

This continued for three years, until the Jimin was fed up with it.

The time when it was their day off, Jimin asked Jungkook to go and hang out with him, but he was rejected once again.
"Sorry hyung. I don't wanna go out today. I have things to do." jungkook apologized, unable to look Jimin in the eyes. Without even thinking twice, he called his friend Kai from another famous boy group, EXO. He agreed to hang out with him, so he hung up and took a shower to prepare to go out. After an hour and half, he was done and ready to go. He went to the living room, only to see the rest, except Taehyung and Jungkook. Dismissing the thought of his missing dongsaengs, he told his hyungs where he was going.
"I'll be heading out soon. I'll be with Kai, and I won't be home until dinner, so don't wait for me." He told the others, making them nod. They all thought it would be good for Jimin to spend sometime without the presence of Jungkook.
"Enjoy your day off Minnie!" J-Hope said, while smiled brightly. He knew how hard the younger one was working to improve his dancing and vocals.
"Be careful while going out!" Jin exclaimed in strict tone, making the younger nod, knowing how protective the oldest to them, especially the maknaes.
"I will hyun-" he was cut off when Taehyung and Jungkook came in the room, having a conversation about going out to play at the arcade. They were talking loudly, not paying attention to their surroundings. Overhearing their conversation, Jimin frowned, feeling sad and betrayed. He thought Jungkook was busy, that's why the maknae didn't want to hang out with him, not that he didn't like them hanging out. He was hurt that Jungkook didn't want to hang out with him, but what hurt more, was the fact that Jungkook lied to him. Jimin's anger and jealousy boiled over, causing him to shout.
"'Have things to do', my ass!" Jimin exclaimed, making the two look at him in shock. They didn't know that Jimin hadn't left yet.
"Thanks for making me realize how much you don't want to spend time with me Guk! Thanks, really!" He burst out in betrayal, making everyone to look at them in pity. Jungkook realized that he messed up, and there was no way to fix it right now.
"hyung, I'm sorry." Jungkook said, full of guilt. He didn't want to hurt his hyung's feelings, so that's why they were trying to wait until after he left. He wanted to spend time with Jimin, but he always felt weird when he spent time with him.
"You know, you can tell me straight if you don't want to spend time with me or hang out instead of making stupid excuses" Jimin retorted angrily and left the dorm, only for the rest of the members to look at each other, not knowing what to do. The maknae line felt horrible, especially Jungkook. He felt so guilty for, not only blowing off Jimin, but lying to him as well.
"Great Guk! You just ruined your friendship with him." Yoongi pointed out, sighing and went back to his room. His remark made Jungkook feel even worse, if that was possible.

That was the day that Jimin decided not to give the maknae any affection at all. He wouldn't even talk to him, unless if it was important. He was angry, so he gave Jungkook the silent treatment. Jungkook would try and approach him and make a conversation, but he would drop it as soon as it started. This made the maknae stress and frustrated. Jimin's actions were making him feel worse, and annoyed at himself for treating his favorite hyung horribly. In the beginning, he could pretend that Jimin was just playing with him, but as it went on for longer, he couldn't do it. He felt isolated and lonely. He tried to hate Jimin, even going as far as saying that he wasn't the maknae's favorite hyung, but he couldn't. Deep down, he knew that Jimin being his favorite wouldn't change. However, verbally, he refused to admit the fact that Jimin was still his favorite hyung, even with the silent treatment.

A month passed, and Jimin hadn't gave Jungkook any affection, not even laid his eyes on him, nor smiling at him once. And yes, Jungkook admitted how much he missed the attention that his hyung always gave him. How he would always takes care of him, ask him many times if he was okay, and the way Jimin would caress his face, head, back, and shoulders, always making him calm. He wouldn't deny how much he missed the way his hyung would look at him with his beautiful eye smiles, while he calls him by the nickname he made. Oh how he missed those nicknames. 'But it's your fault. You are the one that drove him away,' his mind argued. He wanted to change that though. He wanted his favorite hyung back. Today, he was so desperate for Jimin's attention and affection, that he went to the restroom to follow Jimin, who had just excused himself.

"Jimin Hyung!" he called as soon as he entered. Jimin, who was washing his hands, froze from hearing his voice, but still decided to keep the cold expression.
"What do you need?" He asked coldly, glaring briefly at the mirror, when at he saw how the youngest slowly approach him.
"I'm so so sorry hyung. Please stop ignoring me. Can we just go back to before? And make up? I miss being by your side, your caring nature, and your playful personality." The younger one pleaded softly, hoping that the older one would agree, but Jimin only looked at him confused.
"I mean, go back to before, when we were fine. When you were talking to me and y-you know giving me attention?" The younger spoke nervously, shyly clearing up Jimin's confusion. Jimin's expression faltered a bit, thinking about Jungkook's proposition, but then it hardens again. Jimin fake coughed, trying to cover his moment of weakness.
"Weren't you the one who doesn't like the attention?" Jimin asked suspiciously. Jungkook sighed. It was true, he said that once, but it changed now.
"n-" but Jimin refused to let him finish. Jungkook quieted down, trying to figure out what Jimin would do. After a moment to collect his thoughts, Jimin started up again.
"Then why do you want it back?" Jimin asked sternly, making the younger to look at him, almost in tears. That surprised Jimin. He thought that the maknae hated him. Why would he be crying? Jimin wanted to forgive jungkook, but he feared that it would go back to the maknae ignoring him once he received what he wanted.
"Hyung, I just hate that we're not okay. That you don't even talk to me, nor even look at me, and I know it's my fault. I promise that it will never happen again, that I'll never ignore you or blow you off. But will you please forgive me, and let us go back to who we were before all of this?" The younger begged, sincerity apparent in his pleas.
"Was that all?" Jimin asked, hoping his dongsaeng would say something more. Jungkook nodded, unable to think of what else to add.
"Alright, I forgive you. I'll talk to you again and look at you., Now, if you don't mind, I have important things to do." Jimin said, leaving Jungkook alone. Jimin just hoped that Jungkook would keep his promise. Jungkook was excited that he got his favorite hyung back, but he also felt guilty. It would be a while until Jimin would totally forgive him, and he knew this.
