my mom always told me that high school love won't last,
that it wasn't worth crying over something so temporary,
I never disagreed in the past,
until now,
Until I loved someone so much I wake up and reminisce on our memories,
I want you to Be as permanent in my life as a tattoo on my heart that can only be laser removed by the grim reaper himself,
I look in your cocoa brown, honey iris eyes and the rest of my life lives in them,
When your hands meet my waist and hike their way a trail to my face, i melt into your touch,
Your words are all my favorite songs, your humor and knowledge plays a symphony of serendipities since we met,
my mom always said high school love won't last,
but this feeling is not a broken bone healing in a temporary cast,
This is not an extra curricular to kill the short time we have in high school,
this is not like my classes but like my wisdom,
information staining my brain, the ink of your face and last name forever traced in my head.
As I continue to grow into my roots of an intelligent young woman,
I am learning what seeds I want to water and what needs to be picked out.
my boyfriend, my family, my friends, are all beautiful roses,
and I want those to bloom that I care about.
