••This actually won first place in high schools district wide poetry contest for the senior level so yes I'm proud of it••

the seasons seemed to sneak up on me,
the fall wind following me like a shadow,
your heart was so warm a few months back,
now it's like you gone cold blooded, stuck in the snow,
The Pine tops line my mind,
I am so quick to speak but take too long to realize I'm sinking in the storm,
maybe I'm asking for too much?
I'm thinking too much, I get lost in the snowflakes, each one a different reason why i am wrong.
all i wanted was for this summer love to last forever,
Thought you wanted that too but you're blistered and blue, battered and bruised,
left me here alone and confused, I didn't do nothing to you.
that summer love felt like the blazing wind through my fingers when we would say goodbye outside your condo,
I don't know how it slipped so easily through my fingers, or even how long ago,
i don't know if there's still some ash and rubble to ignite the spark,
Don't know if all the love has even made a mark,
It is always the worst feeling to be the match that lasts long enough to see the other burn out.
