Y/N POV

I don't know what happened this time around and I hated myself for being even the slightest bit upset.

I just thought the past week was going alright, not that I was expecting anything from him.

Throughout the trip, beside the big show at the end, we'd hold a handful of smaller shows and concerts since we'd have the stage anyway. It was a chance for people to show off their talent if they wanted + another excuse for us to have a big party all the time.

So, we were busy planning that first concert, but Tom's friends and people from Sterling in general kept saying that the way he was acting wasn't normal, but that it was a good thing.

It was just little stuff, like how he'd hang around and sit by me during movie nights, dinner, or at the barbecues or bonfires, and how he'd always offer to help with setup and planning even though he wasn't in music because I was the head of the department.

I don't think he even realized he was "curving" girls left and right whenever they approached him, his demeanor different as to the first night we met.

They all looked pretty offended or confused when he'd just wave a quick hello and then walk away, not the usual flirt any of them were used to or expecting.

Then there was Anna.

It was cliche but she was your typical mean girl and apparently got Tom to sleep with her a total of three times, so of course she felt like she was on top of the world, as if that was such a big accomplishment.

She'd always come around and I don't think I'd usually notice if I wasn't in this whatever with him, but I was now her least favorite person.

I remember the night before it all went down again, we just had the massive outdoor stage delivered and set up, Tom and I the only ones still outside when she showed up, claiming to be taking a night stroll.

Tom: "So, are you going to tell me what your specialty is yet?" He called up to me from below as I was standing on the massive stage.

Y/n: "You'll just have to find out!"

Anna: "Is it like the cello or something?" She chuckled, as she walked up to us, a slight condescending tone to it.

Y/n: "So what if it is?" I sat down on the edge, prepping to jump instead of walking around for the stairs, "You saying something about cello players?"

Anna: "Uh," she panicked, looking back and forth between me and Tom, "N-No, it just doesn't seem like your instrument of choice is all."

Just then Tom turns around to face me, biting his lip to contain his laughter as he walks over and puts his hands on my hips to help support me down from the stage. I find myself sandwiched between it and him and see Anna raise a brow over his shoulder.

Anna: "So! Do you guys need any more help for the show on Wednesday? I've been meaning to stop by your cabin, I'm just next door," implying she wasn't far behind on the social scale.

Y/n: "Ummm..." I looked up at Tom, who still hasn't released me and when he realizes that, he finally does and turns around, rubbing the back of his neck, "... Yeah, we could use some help."

Anna: "Cool! I could come by right now? I think I saw you guys have been having meetings every night? I was just taking a little stroll. I'm not busy."

Y/n: "Yeah, everyone's inside. We'll meet you there."

Anna: "Actually, I don't want to just walk in there alone since I don't technically belong there and it's my first time. Tom, you think you can go in with me?"
