the two had begun walking down the road. where they were planning to eat wasn’t so far off, just a few blocks from where suna lived in his parent’s apartment.
the evening was bright, the sun hadn’t begun setting yet, and the air was warm.
osamu looked over at suna. They had briefly exchanged a few words when he had left his house, just comfirmations of where they were eating.
“so...we kind of fell apart..huh…” he mumbled softly, his eyes falling over suna’s slightly tanned skin, admiring the color of his dark brown hair and how it parted around his face.
suna turned his head to look at osamu, his lips pursed and his narrowed eyes watching him lazily.
shrugging, he responded, “yeah..I guess so.”
the tension was unbearable as each fumbled with what to say next, if even to say anything at all. they passed through the neighborhood and soon were walking down the road where their restaurant was located. it was in the less populated part of the city, a local business.
osamu sweat nervously. suna wasn’t a big eater, and his house was close, so he feared suna would leave too soon, and the interaction osamu had waited so long for would come to a halting close.
his skin erupted with tiny nerves and a fuzzy tingling sensation upon feeling suna’s hand brush up against his. the contact reminded him of their second of highschool and he struggled to put the thought away.
soft, warm skin pressed together, hot breathes that melted together in the fever of the moment, soft nothings whispered into burning ears.
and the sweet, sweet burning of regret.
