(Emily's POV)

I was heading to Alison's house right after school to study.

I left the school building and arrived there in about 15 minutes. I knocked on her door and Ali quickly answered it.

"Hey Em, come on in" she said directing me into her house.

"Thanks" I said walking into her house.

"Alright Em, want to start studying?" she asked me.

"I like when you call me Em." I told her changing the subject.

She giggled. "Why?"

"It reminds me of my dad." I said the last part of the sentence in a sad tone.

"You just got all sad, is something wrong?" She asked me.

She looked like she really cared.

I looked down as a single tear slipped from my eye.
I tried to stop others from falling but I couldn't.

"Hey, don't cry." She said putting her hand on my chin lifting my head up so I could look her in the eyes.

Her eyes gave me a tender caring look that made me feel safe.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked me.

I simply nodded.

There was a long silence,
I could feel Ali staring at me, waiting for me to go on. I took a deep breath before letting it all go.

"About a month ago, I noticed something was different with my dad. Every time the phone would ring he would jump up and answer it before anyone else could. He kept leaving at the most random times." I said fighting back tears.

"I noticed this and asked my mom what is going on. She put it off as if it was nothing. But I knew something was up. About a week later my dad pulled me aside in the living room. I wasn't expecting it, but he told me he has cancer. Liver cancer. There's no way he's going to live through this." I said now fully crying.

She pulled me closer and hugged me tightly. "I'm so sorry Emily." she said.

I hugged her back just as tightly. I needed someone to care and Ali really made me feel like she did.

She let go of me and looked me in the eyes. "How long does he have until..." she drifted off.

"He could go at any time." I said biting my bottom lip.

"It's going to be okay Emily." Ali said stroking my cheek.

I slightly smiled at her.

(Ali's POV)

"You're a strong person. I can't believe you didn't tell me earlier." I stated.

"I'm sorry." She said looking down.

"No don't be sorry. You have nothing to be sorry for." I told her.

I know Emily is strong she will get through this. And ill be here with her the whole time.

I gave her a small smile. "You're going to pull through. I know it Em."

She nodded moving closer to me.

"Thanks for being here when I need someone Ali." She said.

"Don't thank me. That's what friends are for." I said looking at her.

She moved in closer to me for a hug. I wrapped my arms around her and hugged her tightly.

"I'm lucky to have a friend like you Ali." she said pulling away.

I looked her in the eyes and smiled.

Then at the same time we both leaned into each other. And before I knew it our lips were touching.

I have waited for this for so long. I have wanted to kiss Emily like this so bad since the moment I saw her.

The way her lips feel on mine is like nothing I've ever felt before.

We gently kissed for a few seconds more, before I pulled away.

As I pulled away, I looked at Emily. Her perfect face just inches from mine.

Right as I was about to lean in again, the front door swung open. I quickly jolted away from Emily.

"Hey Ali." my brother Jason said as he walked in.

"H-hi Jason." I replied back crossing my arms.

"Who's your friend?" He asked setting down his keys.

I didn't answer because I was distracted. I was stuck thinking about the kiss Emily and I had just shared.

"Hello? Earth to Alison." Jason said waving his hand in front of my face.

I looked up at him and he smiled.

"What's got you all distracted?" He smirked. "Some boy?"

I glared at him. "This is Emily. She just moved here from Arizona. She's here so we can study together."

Jason nodded looking Emily up and down. "Well uh, welcome to rosewood." He said extending his hand for Emily to shake it.

"Thank you." She smiled as she shook Jason's hand.

"Well, I'll leave you two to study." He said. "Ali, I'll be in my room if you need anything." He said as he walked up the stairs.

"Sorry about him." I said rolling my eyes.

Emily looked up at me. "He seems really nice."

I laughed. "Yeah until you get to know him."

I looked over at Emily after a few moments of silence. She was looking around the house. She seemed very.....distracted.

Maybe it was a mistake to kiss her.

(Emily's POV.)

I'm not quite sure what just happened. But, I'm pretty sure Ali and I kissed. It seemed so surreal.

Ali was talking about something but I wasn't listening I was a bit distracted.

Did the queen bee of rosewood high just kiss me? As I was thinking about it, something hit me.

Ali's journal, the conversation in the bathroom with Aria...I was the reason for it. I was Ali's crush.

"Emily?" Ali said snapping me out of my thoughts.

I looked up at her.

"Look, I'm sorry for what just happened I didn't know if you wanted it like I did. But I did want it. And I wouldn't take it back." She dragged on. "And I just-

"Shh" I said looking up at her. "I did want it."

She looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes, and smiled. A bit of her dimple showing.

"You have a dimple." I said
pointing it out.

She looked down in embarrassment.

She was so cute when she was embarrassed. She was so cute no matter what.

"Why are you embarrassed about a dimple?" I said laughing a bit.

"I dunno." She said her head still down.

"I think it's cute." I honestly said.

Her cheeks turned crimson red.

"Maybe we should study now?" She whispered trying to change the subject off of her.

That was a first. When does Alison Dilaurentis ever not want the subject on her? she always wants to be the center of attention.

I backed up a bit and laughed. "Yah maybe we should study."
