(Ali's Pov)
Emily had just left my house to go help her mom cook, so I was home alone again. Not that I mind. It's not like my parents pay attention to me when there here anyway.
I went and sat down on our living room couch and flipped the tv on. As the tv turned on, I didn't even pay attention to what was playing. I was a bit too focused on my thoughts.
This is where Emily and I watched mean girls together for her first time.
Ali stop. But I can't. I honestly can't stop thinking about her.
I'm confused with who I am. I honestly don't have feelings for any other girl and I don't think I will. You know what, forget labels I don't need them. I like who I want to like.
I feel like I have to tell my parents. But maybe I should wait....?
Maybe I'll start off by telling Jason first when he gets home.
I heard a loud clap of thunder which snapped me out of my thoughts causing me to focus my attention to the tv, noticing that spongebob square pants was on. I smiled at the fact that I haven't seen this show since I was just a child.
As time went by I hadn't realized I had been watching sponge bob for two hours. I also hadn't realized that I had two missed calls from Emily.
I immediately pulled up her contact and hit call. I waited for her to answer with no luck.
As I began to call her again, I heard a faint knock on my front door. I hit the end call button as I slowly got up to answer the door.
As I opened the door I saw Emily standing there. Her clothes soaked from the sudden rain storm that we had been hit with.
"Emily! Oh my gosh, are you okay?" I asked taking her hand and pulling her into my house.
"I don't know." She said out of breath.
"Did you run all the way here?" I questioned stating the obvious.
She slowly nodded. I looked at her face. She looked like she had been crying.
"Em, why don't you come upstairs to my room and I'll let you borrow some of my pajamas." I offered. "You need to get out of these wet clothes."
She nodded. I grabbed her hand guiding her upstairs to my room.
As we entered my room I walked to my dresser and pulled out some pajama pants and a t shirt. I turned around to see Emily frozen in the the doorway.
"Here Em," I said handing her the dry clothes. "Go in the bathroom and change."
She walked in and paced towards the bathroom that was connected to my room.
As she walked in and shut the door, I pulled out some pajamas for me to wear.
I quickly slipped them on, as I sat on my bed and turned my tv on waiting for Emily to come out.
Shortly after Emily walked out of the bathroom, wearing my pajamas...Looking adorable too, might I add.
She made her way to sit next to me on my bed. I placed my hand on top of hers letting her know I cared. "Emily, is everything okay?" I asked.
She bit her lip trying contain her emotion. "I don't know."
"Why don't you tell me what's going on?"
She looked up at me as I noticed her eyes were glossy.
"Come here." I said pulling her down on the bed with me. I held onto her, softly running my hands through her hair.
"Let it out Em." I softly said.
"I ran here because I had no where else to go. I ran here because I knew you'd care over anyone else Ali." She began.
"But why did you run here Em, what's wrong?" I kindly asked her.
"When I got to my house after coming home from yours, there were ambulances parked outside of my house. My first thought was 'My dad', And I was right. He was rushed to the hospital. I ran up to my mom asking her what happened, and she blew up on me. "Why weren't you home? where were you?" Is just some of the stuff she said. I told her I was busy with school stuff and she just left to the hospital leaving me locked out of the house, and in the pouring rain."
"Emily." I hummed holding onto her tighter. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be sorry Ali it's not your fault." she gently told me.
"You can stay here as long as you need." I told her.
"Thank you Ali." She said as she finally relaxed in my arms.
"Anytime Em." I said as I continued to slowly run my fingers through her soft brown hair.
I looked down at her face and noticed she started to drift off to sleep.
I was calm seeing her at peace and hearing the rain hit the window. It was perfect having her in my arms, letting her know she's safe with me.
I was relaxed, but I wasn't tired. As I was laying down, I heard the front door open then close loudly. I was surprised it didn't wake Emily up.
I heard the person make their way up the stairs. I thought they were going to come in my room, but they went into the room across from mine.....Jason's.
I relaxed knowing Jason was in the house with us so we weren't completely alone.
I decided I could try to fall asleep as there was nothing I could really do because I was holding Emily in my arms.
I slowly kissed her head and closed my eyes. Before I knew it I feel into a peaceful sleep.

I jolted awake as a loud clap of thunder rang through the house. As I sat up, Emily sat up with me.
"W-what's wrong?" She tiredly asked.
"Nothing, just the thunder scared me a bit that's all." I told Emily.
"Oh." She said laying back down grabbing her phone whilst doing so.
"Any word on your dad?" I asked laying back down next to her.
"No." She softly replied.
"It's going to be okay Em, if you want tomorrow we can miss school and visit your dad?" I offered.
"I don't want you missing any school for something silly." She mumbled.
"It's not silly. If it's important to you it's important to me." I told her.
She turned around so she was facing me.
"I'd like to do that. And I'd love for you to come with me."
I gave her a small smile and fell asleep for the second time that night.
