Chapter Twelve

    I ate my food in the sitting room fully aware of James's gaze on me. I knew what was on his mind and I wasn't ready to listen to him.
    I changed the channel to Movies Zone much to Sochi's chagrin. I was watching a movie titled Divergent and I was enjoying it. At one point James started watching the movie too.

   " So James." I started when the movie was over.
    He gave me a bored look " What is it?"
   " Why did you react that way to Bunmi?"
   He sighed and stood up " I don't have time for your stupid questions"
   " Stupid questions like you? " I fired. "I know you like Bunmi,stop trying to cover up with your unconcerned facade"
   James laughed so loud I wanted to stick a rolling pin up his ass " I know you want me to say something,but I'm not"
  " I hate you" I glared at him.
   " Love you more sis " he sang. Then a murderous glare was replaced. " I don't want to see you alone with Godfrey "
    I laughed at him " who are you to tell me what to do? Are you my mother?"
   "I've told you. I'll not fail to slap you if I hear anything about you"
   I stood up in anger " you'll not. Why would you slap me? I will do whatever I want to do,I don't need your approval. Besides,your so called Godfrey is as stupid as you" I sneered " birds of the same feather"
   "Are you mad!!" He was fuming now,oh I liked it. Getting him angry
   " I think it's you that's mad" I deadpanned.
    "I'm not your mate,don't forget that" he said sauntering over to me, obviously taller than me. But I didn't flinch.
   I chuckled "why would I? We're not mates but you're definitely not sensible"
   A hard hand landed across my face. I could feel the stinging effect and the funny noise in my ears. James slapped me?. A stray tear slid down my face.

    " You would never talk to me in that manner"
    Sochi stood up and came to stand beside me. Staring up at James,she muttered. " Why did you slap aunty Chika. I like Godfrey,he's nice. I'll tell him what you did. I hate you "
   I was the one who received the slap but Sochi was crying as if she was.
    James groaned and cursed under his breath. " I'm sorry Sochi"
    " Did you slap me? Is it not aunty Chika you slapped?"
     " What is going on here brethren?"
    We all turned to see Chris on the stair case, Bible in his hands. When he saw my face,his eyes widened and he dropped his Bible on a sofa as he came towards me.
   " What happened Chika??"
    Sochi spoke up for me, ignoring James.
     " James slapped her" she sniffled.
   I don't know if Chris was sent to taunt me,but I swore I was going to pay back.
    " According to Matthew 5:39, Jesus admonished that "whosoever shall smite thee on the right cheek,turn to him the other side" "
   James burst into laughter, Chris joining in.
   Sochi didn't find it funny,she was frowning at the laughing idiots. More tears slid down my cheeks and I stormed off to my room in annoyance.

   Stupid brothers. I hated them!!
     It was better I slept so I'd be fine and ready for revenge when I wake up.
    My phone rang,causing me to groan in annoyance. Not bothering to check the caller,I picked up.
" What is it!" I snapped

   " Woah woah, chill. It's Godfrey" An amused voice replied from the other end.
  "How can I help you? And who gave you my number?" I asked rudely.
Godfrey sighed and I heard shuffling on the background.
     "Are you mad?"

  I frowned. Who is this idiot? He called me and is still insulting me!!.
    " I think it's you that's mad and not me!!"
   "God of Mercy! I wasn't insulting you! I was asking if you're angry"
      Ohh,that was what he meant?.
   "I'm sorry" I apologized.
    " I don't need it" he sounded angry, thanks to me. " I don't know why you girls don't understand English,and don't tell me I'm comparing you to other girls cuz I am "
   " Thank you very much for calling me to insult me. I appreciate" with these words,I hung up and flung my phone across the bed.
     I hated boys,all of them! Annoying set of people. Now I knew what Bunmi was going through in Diego's hands.
