Sochi and Chris were watching TV by the time I arrived home. I entered the sitting room and flopped into the sofa beside Chris. He twisted his head and smiled at me.

"You're back early"

I nodded "We didn't do a lot of work today. Where's James?"

Chris shrugged " He never tells anyone where he goes. How am I supposed to know?"

"Aunty Chika!!" Sochi screamed and stood up from where she sat to meet me. " You have come back"

She jumped into my arms and I engulfed her into a hug. " Yes Sochi. Have you eaten?"

She nodded and pointed an accusatory finger at Chris " He cheated me! He gave me small meat"

I knew what Chris was capable of doing and I also knew how manipulative my little sister was. She probably told him to put the biggest meat in the pot. She's a little bit spoilt you know.

"Okay, I'll give you a bigger meat when you want to eat again, okay?"

She nodded and went back to her seat. My parents were at work so I didn't bother about them. Dad worked at a commercial bank, Zenith or Diamond bank. Funny, I didn't even know where my dad worked. Mum owned a boutique somewhere in Ajah. I had gone there a few times and the place was all big and fancy.

I picked up my handbag and trudged to my room. I opened my door and groaned in frustration when I saw how scattered it was. My clothes were hanging out of my wardrobe and snacks nylons littered all over the place. My shoes had scattered in different regions of my room. My
reading desk was nothing to write home about. I didn't even want to think about it.

I entered my room and dropped my bag on my equally unarranged bed and bent to start picking everything. It took several minutes to make my room look a bit liveable. It was mad man's den before. It looked better now.

I changed my dress and put on a brown tank top and a baggy off-white short before going back to the sitting room and into the kitchen to dish out my food. I wasn't able to buy anything due to Godfrey's stupid display of affection. Affection?.

I didn't even know what we were. This was our third time kissing. I don't know what he'll say if I ask him. I want to. I want to know where I place myself, where he places me. I don't want a situation whereby.... I don't even know. I groaned. I'll think about that later or maybe call him. For now, food was my priority.

Mum made my favorite. Bitterleaf soup. My stomach rumbled in anticipation. Greed rather. I opened the pot and the mouthwatering aroma filled my nose.

"Oh Jesus. I'm so ready to whack this food. Mum is such a darling. She knows the way to my belly"

I went to the plate rack and picked out a soup bowl and a platter. I dished out soup and eba, smelt my soup and danced out of the kitchen into the dining room.

I gave my food my time and devotion, Chris waved ate from the sitting room. He knew my love for Bitterleaf soup was not fake. I cut out medium sized morsels of eba and dipped it into my soup. Raised my hands to my mouth and savoured the soupy sweetness of the soup. I moaned in satisfaction as each ball slid down my throat.

I was interrupted by James' entrance. He was laughing with someone which was rare. James wasn't the laughing type. He was always grumpy, frowning and had the tendency to attack you like a mother hen. He annoyed me most of the times.

My eyes widened in suprise when I saw who he was laughing with.

For starters, it was Bunmi, like Bunmi, my best friend who was always tearing up because of him. Which drug did she give him? Was Diego drunk?.
