Brooke's Pov
It was three days after my little chat with Leo during capture the flag. To be honest, it was kind of weird. It makes me uneasy. So does Leo. I told him I don't know anything else, yet. I can't see the future but I can see the past. I can see what people have been through. That's why I have a soft heart. That's most of the reason of why I'm sensitive towards others. I don't know his past, but I know it has a lot of sarrow. I don't want to know. I'm afraid to know. Then again, I don't like Leo. He kind of scares me..I spent some time with Will and his, uh partner, Nico (I didn't know he was gay until 3 dad ago but they are actually really cute together), but that's only because they let me join them. I don't really have anyone else to hang out with, but sometimes Will and Nico get into things so I just go to the arena and practice.
I am trying to master a bow and arrow, daggers/knives, and swords. It's quite easy once you get the hang of it. I've also practiced my light powers on the top floor of the Apollo cabin. that can get pretty cool too. I've worked a little in the infirmary but not a lot. Some of the machines broke and I fixed them. I usually just hang around in the woods and listen to the birds and all because it's quiet and it's time to myself.
I decided to go on a walk. In the distance I saw Rachel, the Oracle. All of the sudden her eyes turned green. A glowing green. Green smoke leaked from her mouth. She recited a prophecy:
Three tasks for three demigods
Each more challenging against all oddsAnswer the riddles of the guards
And find the three hidden shardsFire will be the first call
But beware the winding hallRough battles ahead, you must stand tall For light to triumph and darkness fall
A crowd had gathered. The first there was Chiron, Will and Nico, Leo, Hazel and Frank, and me. Others just kind of came in. Rachel returned to normal. Chiron spoke aloud, "Who wants to volunteer for the quest?" Will spoke up. "Well the prophecy talked about darkness, for one thing, and I think Nico should go." Nico glared and rolled his eyes. "Also, the prophecy talked about light. I think Brooke should go because I think it would be training and you know, Apollo, light?" I smiled for a moment as people stared at me.
"We need one more," Chiron told the crowd. Hazel spoke up, next. "Fire will be the first call. Leo should go." Nico's eyes widened. "No, no, no! I don't mind going with Brooke, but I will not-" he glared at Leo. "-go on a quest with Leo. Nope." Chiron looked back and forth between the three of us. "That dos seem like a good idea. Valdez, di Angelo, Lambrix. It all seems to fit. Nico can you reconsider?"
Nico glared again "N-" Will whispered in his ear. "But-" Nico frowned. "Ugh. Fine. I'll go." Chiron smiled. "Great. You will leave tomorrow morning. Make sure you get all ready and pack," Chiron told us. I glanced over at Leo who quickly turned away. Apparently he was looking at me. I'm still afraid. I'm going to be stuck on a quest with him. That's not going to go well...
I went to my cabin and started packing things in my enchanted bag with things I would most likely need. My bag has a charm on it, like an extension charm. I packed about 2-3 changes of clothes, a lot of ambrosia and nectar, my basic healing kit, a notepad (for interpreting the prophecy), and weapons. I then set everything down on my desk/dresser. I didn't feel like going to the campfire so I got ready for bed. I laid down on my bed and just thought about the quest. After about an hour of just laying there, I fell asleep.
