Chapter 17

I woke up in the next morning only to find myself in a different room.

I remembered I cried and slept off.... till this morning?

That was long! I stretched. Where did Abe sleep then? He probably didn't even come home. I yawned.

I got up from the bed and took my shoes from the chair.

I wonder how it got there. I probably removed it..just can't remember doing that.

Just then, the door opened and Abe came out of the bathroom and I gasped.

He was wearing a white button down shirt and sweat pants. His face and hair was wet and he was using a towel to clean it.

"You're awake?" He said and sat on the bed.

"Did you come home yesterday? .. Uhm..I mean where did you sleep?" I asked.

"Right next to you." He said flatly and I gasped.

"Wait. Do you think I'd sleep on the couch just because you were sleeping? Woah! I'm not that nice." He laughed.

"By the way, how was your sleep? Bet it was better than all the ones you've had." He smiled, patted me and left.

Why was he being nice all of a sudden?

I left the room and went to my room.

"Lexi?" Chanel called out.

"What do you want?" I asked rudely as I sat on my bed.

"Why wouldn't you want to answer me? I've been calling you since yesterday." She complained.

"Why would I want to answer you?" I spat.

"Did I offend you?" She asked.

"Don't ask me that! You lied to me and you expect me to be on good terms with you. You made up a silly story and I had to believe you. I didn't want to believe you but I felt it was quite insulting cos we've been friends since five. I had to believe you cos you don't lie to me. But you proved me wrong." I hollered.

"Look. Am sorry. I didn't mean it but... I just didn't. Look. Its a long story and I have no excuse for lying to you. Just forgive me please." She pleaded.

I just rolled my eyes and changed into my towel.

"Lexi please just forgive me. You can't just end our relationship because I lied to you this once." She said holding me back.

"Its not just once Chanel. Its not. That, I'm sure of. You and Abe were together years back, weren't you? Did you tell me? Each time I asked if you having anything with any guy, you always said you hated relationships right? Abe told me he's not the first neither was he the last." I said matter-of-factly.

You don't believe that rascal, do you?" She asked me surprised.

"I don't neither do I believe you so I remain angry." I finalized.

I stormed into the shower. I've been crying so my eyes were red. I scrubbed my body and washed my hair thoroughly with shampoo and conditioner.

After then, I brushed my teeth and came out of the bathroom.

I dried my hair and styled it in beach wave style and wore a simple black leggings and a pink top. I sat on my bed.

"Ma'am." Nicolette knocked on the door.

"Come in Nicolette." I said and she entered.

"What would you like for breakfast?" She asked.

"Didn't you make a general breakfast?" I asked.

"Nope. Your husband said I should just make burritos for him and he's not sure if you'd like the same so, we should ask you." She said and I nodded.

"Oh. Right. I'd prefer omelet casserole." I said and she nodded.

"Have you had your breakfast?" I asked.

"No but I've made muffins. I think that would be fine for me." She said and I smiled.

"Okay then, I'll be expecting it." I said and she nodded. She left my room and got out.

I went to the veranda and Chanel came to me.

"Lexi, I'm sorry. I wont lie to you again. You know I don't lie to you. I'll tell you everything I promise. I and Abe weren't in any relationship. He just liked me and wanted me to accept him but I didn't accept and he killed his father out of frustration and always blamed me for it. That's it." She said to me.

"I'll accept that as a mistake. Its okay. I was going to forgive you anyways. I have no other choice." I smirked and she smiled.

"You forgive me now?" She asked smiling like an eager cute puppy and I laughed.

"Yeah, I mean it. I forgive you." I said and she hugged me.

I couldn't just end stuffs with her because she lied to me. It's fine.

Abe is just the problem. I'd have to figure out a way to get him to forgive her and allow her stay here.

I'm pretty sure it was because Darby was in hurry that was why he just accepted her to stop the drama.

There's been lot of drama since I got here. Ugh.

Scarlett already told me there's always drama here. Just had to enjoy the drama free day and fresh air today and rest.

Tomorrow is another day. Who knows if it'll be drama free or drama filled.

One sure thing is that I'll definitely get divorced to him and that day will be the day he'll raise his hands on me. He's only pushed me off once.

At least he hasn't injured me the way he did to Maddox and Chanel.

He doesn't have respect for women. I'll just endure for the mean time till Maddox returns.
