Chapter 22

After having my bath and brushing my teeth, I dressed up in a wine top and jeans. I hadn't eaten since yesterday but that's not what into me now.

Who on this earth can do what he's done? So I've gat no one in this life any longer. I'll also die but after avenging for Darby's death. I'll commit suicide soon.

Sir, Have this. Axel said giving me bacon and cilantro muffins. I don't want. I'm not hungry. I said and pushed the food away. Okay sir have a cup of juice. He said. I'm not interested. I snapped.

I'll get water later. I added. Sir, You haven't eaten since yesterday. He said. Leave now. I snapped and he turned to leave. After he left, I heard a knock.

Sir, its time to leave. He said. That was James. I'll be down. I said. I got my stuffs and got out. I went to meet him. Good morning sir. He said and nodded. I entered the car and he drove off.

How many minutes would it take you to get there? I asked. It'd take like 45 minutes and that's if there's no traffic. Hopefully there won't be. He said and I nodded.

I must find out why he must've done it cos he's such a joker and I don't know why he'd want to kill Darby. I kept thinking till I dozed off in the car.

************************************ We got there and he stopped the car. I got down. Should I wait here? He asked. I don't know but if you leave, you'd have to return later. I said. Its okay. I'll wait. I'll find a place to stay. I'm sure you can't be here till late night. He said and I nodded.

I stepped out and stood in front of Adonis house. It was a duplex with a medium sized compound. I entered and knocked on the door. I'll get it. I heard someone say and I sighed.

The door flung open and I saw a female. Oh my god! Its Abe! She squealed and I sighed. Are you serious? Someone said from behind. Yes yes. She replied.

Come in. She smiled and I nodded. Oh. Its you. How're you doing? A middle aged woman which I suppose would be their mom asked as she came out. What would you like? She asked me.

I'm okay. I just need to see Adonis. I replied looking away. Look. Mom, he's so dashy. The girl said. Look. I have to see Adonis now. Its really important. I snapped. Oh. Adonis. He's not here. She said.

Where's he gone to? I fumed. Calm. He's probably gone to the terrace or he's outside. I don't know but he's somewhere around. She replied and I sighed frustratingly.

I got up and headed outside. I'll take you there. She volunteered. No. I shot her and went out. I walked to the back but didn't find him. I kept on going round but didn't find him. I stopped and dialed his number.

I heard it ring and shot my head up. I moved closer and saw him. I ended the call and walked to where he was. He looked back and gasped. Then, he started to run.

I didn't think I would have to stress myself before getting what I want. I ran after him but he kept going farther. When I got to an alley, I got a bamboo and threw it at him.

He fell and I ran to where he was. I pulled his collar and punched him on the face. Sir, I didn't do anything. I can explain it sir. He pleaded.

Shut it! You drugged Darby to kill him! What did he do to you?! I yelled. He did nothing to me sir! Please let me explain! He pleaded and I punched him again.

He did nothing so why the hell did you do that?! You even have an innocent face! You killed the only person I've got left! I snarled.

Sir. It wasn't me. Let me just explain. Please. I know who must've done it. He said with blood trailing down his face. Who? I asked and let him go violently. Sir, I was just on my own and then Lucas  came to me. He said.

Lucas?! I asked surprised. Yes sir. Lucas. He came to me. He said that I should go prank Alec and then collect the cup of juice he was about to give Darby.

Then, he'd give it to him himself. I told him I can prank him but I'm not going to collect the cup of juice from him because I don't trust him. He told me he wasn't up to anything and he swore. He said he only wanted to prank Alec cos he once pranked him.

I told him that if anything happens to Darby after this I would report him to you. Then, I did what he said. Later, I heard he was dead. I knew Lucas had something to do with it so I went to him.

He then threatened me not to tell you or he'd destroy me and my family. I came home so, I would figure out a way to tell you without him getting a way into my life. He said and I fumed.

Lucas. He's back. I'm not surprised. Lucas is Chanel's brother. He probably wants to get revenge on me because I almost killed Chanel. Ugh. I sighed and left Adonis. Sir, I can help you get him. He said.

Shut it! Don't say a word now or I'll kill you! I promise I'll kill Lucasbwith my own hands! So you fall for threats huh?! I yelled. Sir, he's dangerous and I can't risk my family. He said. Fuck family! I cursed.

People are so protective of their family. Shit. Darby is my family too. I don't care about the other ones. I just don't get revenge on them. Just Maddox. Can you get me whiskey? I asked.

Sir...just answer me! Can you?! I snapped. Yes sir. He stuttered. Come to my house and I'll get it for you. He added. Don't forget to clean your blood before going inside. I said.

Yes sir. He replied and I stood up. I dusted my clothes and left there. I went back to his house and sat there. Sir, please can you go to the terrace?

I don't want to play twenty questions with my family. I'll meet you there. He said and I turned to leave without replying him. I went to the terrace to wait.

Soon, Adonis came with some bottles of whiskey and I gulped them down desperately.
