01:56 a.m.
Lila couldn't sleep. Between her father's soft snores and her roaming mind, her body wouldn't let her lay down and sleep. She couldn't stop thinking about detective Hudson and how he kept staring at her.

She slipped on a pair of shoes and softly opened the door, grabbing the key card to get back in later. Lila took the elevator down to the lobby of the hotel. Maybe, I just need to walk around a little, she thought.

"Can't sleep either I suppose?" A newly familiar voice said. Lila nodded as she turned around, coming face to face with none other than Devin Miller. "You caught me." She let out a small laugh.

"I know it's my first day, wanna get to know each other a little bit?" He small smile played among Devin's lips. "At 2 in the morning?" Devin shrugged.

"We're both up aren't we?" Lila sighed softly. "Indeed we are, let's get to know each other."

The two sat on a couch in the lobby. "So, how old were you when you joined the BAU?" Devin asked. "Twenty-three, i only started a couple months ago." Lila smiled. "I've grown up around everyone though."

"I'm guessing you're like super smart, like your dad." Lila shrugged slightly. "You could say that." She laughed softly.

"So what's your relationship with the team?" Devin questioned. Lila sighed. "Well, obviously Spencer is my dad." She smiled. "Derek and JJ are my godparents, and the rest of them, I have always just called them Uncle Dave or Aunt Penelope."

Devin smiled slightly. "So where's you're mom in all this?" Lila bit her bottom lip, no one had asked her about her mother in a couple years. "She left my dad and I when I was nine, like without hesitation. They weren't ever married, but I just wasn't enough to make her stay."

Devin set his hand on Lila's, holding it gently. "My dad died when I was fifteen. I have a fourteen year old sister who's living with my mom in New York, but..." Devin stopped, wondering if he should continue or keep his mouth shut for his sister's safety.

"Dev? What is it?" Lila squeezed his hand softly. "Um, my mom, she's an alcoholic. In all honesty, she hated my sister after our father's death so I'm really just trying to get my little sister out of that house."

Lila rubbed Devin's hand with her thumb. "What's your sisters name?"
"Clara, I got to help name her." He smiled.

"You sound like an amazing brother, Dev. If I can help get your sister out of the house in any way, I will." She stared at their hands and looked back up at Devin. "Thanks, Lils." She smiled slightly at the nickname.
