"Oh...cool," I croaked, my eyes were wide and my legs frozen. I was fully aware those might be my last words, but I honestly couldn't think of any better way to respond to what the Incredible Bulk just said. He bent his knees and it looked like he planned on jumping to me. I was a good thirty or so meters away from him because of the slope of the seats. He jumped, students around me screaming as they ran away. Before I could join them, an arm wrapped around my abdomen,
"Maybe not," the male voice belonging to the arm stated cockily. A second later I was flying and the Bulk crashed bellow me, smashing several empty seats near me. He roared in protest and I found myself clinging to the-still anonymous-figure that raced upward to the ceiling. I looked up in terror as I saw a gold covered fist punch a hole in the roof-shielding me from the incoming debris with his torso. Gold. There was only one person who wore gold colored spandex.
"The Guardian?" I finally managed to squeak.
"In the flesh," I actually heard his smirk as he spoke. We fell up into the sky and away from the school-the super going higher rather than away. Hearing more roars from a too-familiar Bulk, I squeaked again and hastily wrapped myself around the super.
"H-Hey! Do not disturb the front seat driver!" He shouted in protest when I twisted myself as to see over his left shoulder, my arms wrapping around his face. My eyes widened when I looked through the whole in my schools ceiling and saw a furious Bulk staring back. It looked like he was getting ready to jump again. I started to hit the top of Guardian's head repetitively.
"He's coming, he's coming, HE'S COMING!" I screamed. I heard Guardian groan in frustration before shaking me off, and then I was free falling. I let out at strangled scream before he caught me again by the forearm, and he wasn't even breaking sweat.
"YOU JERK!" I shrieked. I wrapped my other arm around his for extra support. I was too aware that his right arm was the only thing stopping me from falling and turning into a Rowan-pancake.
"I. Couldn't. See. " he growled down at me. I was about to respond when I heard a growl from below me. I looked down just in time to see a very big, very angry, pink dude jump over 50 meters in the air and wrap one of his oafish hands around my frame.
"I have you now Hayes," He said my last name like it was a disease. I croaked as his hand crushed my ribs. Guardian lurched with the extra weight.
"Ugh, girl what do you eat?" he wheezed as he tried to shake me loose of the Bulk. If he was trying to make a joke it wasn't funny. The three of us were all heading down because of the weight-Bulk being to much for the Guardian to carry. I wondered how I wasn't dead yet, Guardian was holding both of us, but I was the one Bulk was latching on to. My body should have split in half. That was when I noticed the faint shimmer of light around the pink giants figure.
"I told you to call for help when you needed it," a sweet voice stated-honestly sounding annoyed. I looked around but it seemed like the voice had just come out of thin air.
"I-do-not-need-your-help," Guardian managed to wheeze in between breaths.
"Who are you talking to," I whispered-struggling to speak in the giants grip. Bulk roared again-split flying all over my face.
"ewwwww," I whinnied-officially done with the Bulk.
"SILENCE AIR!" Bulk commanded at the mysterious voice.
"Really?-" the invisible voice cocked as she returned to her conversation with Guardian. Seemingly unbothered by Bulk's order.
"-cause your little damsel in distress would be dead by now if it wasn't for me," The air in front of me suddenly rippled, and girl with dark hair and opaque white sunglasses appeared from it; hovering just a little above the Bulk with one arm outstretched. The same shimmering light that surrounded the giant surrounded her, but it seemed almost stronger on her...like it was coming from her. She swept her hand and the Bulks fingers turned ridged before unlocking me from their grasp. He let out a deep gasp as I took in a deep breathe.
