Season 2, Chapter 6: Boys and Girls

At school.

Nishikata's POV

Another day of me sitting with the boys in the corridor at lunch time, thinking about reality and misery.

"Dang...school sucks..." Takao said as his head plunges downwards.

"Yeah...if it weren't for that stupid exam...this day would be so much better." Hamaguchi added.

"And if this day my Mom gave me a fried chicken it would be great, but all she gave me is just vegetables." Kimura said with despair looking at the lunch box.

I couldn't say anything...because today it's just like any other day. Yes, maybe an exam kinda sucks, but thanks to Takagi, I could swim trough that exam no problem. And for the lunch, it's fine, just a normal chicken from my Mom.

Only what made every day special is just Takagi. Where she brightens up my mood with her teasing and our contest, only that it would be much better if I win. But oh well, I don't care.

I smirked while looking at them, so sad and lifeless. I wish they could have a different kind of life, like mine or Nakai. I kinda want to cheer them up.

"Guys, come on. Today's not that bad right?"

"Say the guy who studies with Takagi." Hamaguchi hissed.

"Wha-! Hey! I-i didn't study with her at all!"

"Then, explain what happened this morning when you asked Takagi some questions." Takao added, which taken me back.

"Alright, alright. Maybe just a little bit. Nothing too harsh, but the rest is mine."

"You get smarter every time you get closer to Takagi." Kimura now's the one hissed me.

"Hey! Not cool!"

"What do you mean "not cool"!? You walked with her every single day! She teased you every time! You guys have contest, goes to the summer and new year's festival together! Now say Nishikata, why do you want to be with her!?" Kimura asked with his godly question, that made me shocked.

"Uumm...because I wanted too...?" I shugged and gave them a little smirk, as Hamaguchi intensifies.

"Come on! More honest answer Nishikata!"

"T-that's the truth! Come on!!"

"I do not take it!" Takao added.

"Whatever! That's the only answer that you can get!"

"Why are you so close to Takagi!?"

"SHE'S MY FREAKIN' GIRLFRIEND YOU IDIOTS-" Whoops.

"WHAT!? WHAT DID YOU SAY NISHIKATA!?" All of them said in unison.

"Uuuuhhhh....Nothing! Absolutely nothing!"

"Did you say that Takagi is your girlfriend?" Takao said.

"N-no! Not at all!"

"Well...that explains why you always get close to her. So we don't have to be suspicious to you anymore." Hamaguchi said.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, agreed! By the way, congarts dude!" Takao added, while smiling. And Kimura nodded in agreement.

Well..I thought that they would hiss me and angry, but looks like they were all relived. Thank god for that.

"Yeah...we've been dating since the summer festival." I said as I scratched my head and blushed a little bit.

"Have you guys ever kissed each other!?" Takao said excitingly.

"What? Well...yeah. Once." I said as my face keeps burning.
