It started on the first day of the rest of my life.

"Beth! Wake up!"

I wake up to the sound of my blaring alarm clock and my annoying older sister. I rub my eyes and stretch, sitting up. "What time is it?" I ask, yawning.

Brittany looks at me with wide eyes. "It's 7:50. You start school in 10 minutes."

This wakes me up, and I realize what day it is. The first day of senior year. Also my first day of public school.

"Crap!" I throw off my blankets and run to the bathroom. I brush my teeth, wash my face, and brush my hair.

Oh God. I look like Godzilla just came out of a car wash. I sigh and get back to my room to change, glad that Brittany has made her way downstairs.

I throw on my favorite pair of jeans and a thin grey sweater with my black high tops. Outfits are something that come easily to me, so I don't really think about it.

I scurry down the stairs and grab an apple. I freeze, realizing I didn't put on any makeup. I hold the apple between my teeth and run back up the stairs, almost tripping over myself. I put on a quick line of eyeliner, one coat of mascara, pop the apple out of my mouth, put on some clear gloss, and I'm ready to go. I grab my bag and my phone, dashing out the door with my apple in one hand.

The first thing I see is Adam waiting in his car. I breath a sigh of relief and hop into the front seat.

I'm breathing heavily when I get inside, and Adam smirks at me.

"Running late?"

"I'll be even later if you don't hurry up and drive."

He chuckles and puts on his sunglasses. "Sassy too? I got a keeper."

I roll my eyes as he puts the car in drive.

My school is only two miles away, but Adam insisted on driving me there on most days. I'm kinda grateful. I don't want to go to a new high school in my Mom's old Honda. She never wants to get a new car.

I take a deep breath and think about what might happen today. I haven't tried to make normal friends since seventh grade. All my friends now are YouTubers, and they're always somewhere else, traveling and going on tour or having photoshoots. It was a risk, but I told my manager to let me have a year of actual school. Not only did I want to experience a real school, I wanted all the attention to stop. After four years of internet fame, I was getting exhausted. I'm positive the people here will act like I'm nobody.

Well, except Adam.

Even though I'm kinda popular throughout the world, Adam likes me for who I am. He's been my best friend since I started being homeschooled. We've gotten really close, and I'm grateful.

As we pull up to the high school, I look around. No familiar faces. What did I expect? I've never been here before.
