"YES, this is she."

Deja-vu is hitting like a bitch.

"Hi! This is Joe and Anthony Russo. Our friend, Julia Hart, sent us a few clips of some serious scenes you did- we absolutely love you!"
"Wait, what?"
"Did she not tell you?"

I paused, my throat going desert dry.

"I-I mean, 'what' as in Joe and Anthony Russo? Like the 'Marvel Cinematic Universe' Joe and Anthony Russo?"
"That's us."
"This is so embarrassing.. No, she didn't tell me."

"That's okay! We'll fill you in- We talked to Jules a few weeks ago discussing our stress over finding a person to play a character in our upcoming movie, Captain America: Civil War. From what we described, she thought you'd be a perfect fit."

I feel like I'm going to cry. Or vomit. Or maybe both.

"Wait: so what you're telling me is-"
"We want you to come in and audition for this part, that's what we're telling you." Joe cut me off.
"We want to see your action in real life, just to make sure we still feel the same.. vibrancy we felt in the clips Jules sent." Anthony finished.

Again, I fell dead silent.

"Are you still there, Miss l/n?"
"Yes, yes of course. I'm sorry, this is just a huge shock."
"Take your time, we understand. How about we give you a time and place, and if you think it over and decide to go for it; we'll see you then?"
"That sounds perfect."

"Okay, we'll get Julia to send your information to us so we can give you the information. Lovely talking to you, Miss l/n."
"You can just call me y/n, and it's been lovely talking to you both, as well."
"We hope to hear back from you, y/n."

And with that, they hung up, leaving me in the biggest shell shock I had felt in a while.
Getting the part for Miss Stevens was one thing, but being asked to audition for a part in a Marvel movie, by the Russo brothers themselves?
That's an entirely different beast.

I think I can feel the hangover coming back—

"Who was it? Is everything okay?" I turn around, greeted with a worried look on Tim's face.
He steps closer quickly, putting his hand up to my forehead.
"Oh gosh, y/n, did something happen? You're as white as paper."

"I just got a call from the Russo brothers." I blurted.

He slowly takes his hand away, looking into my eyes.
"Are we thinking about the same Russo brothers?"
I nodded, gulping.

Suddenly, he lifts me up by my waist, spinning us around. "Y/N THIS IS AMAZING!"
I laugh hysterically, ignoring the turning in my stomach.
"I'M SO SO SO SO PROUD OF YOU!" He stops spinning, but keeps me in his arms, hugging me.

My arms, that gripped him fearfully just a second ago, loosened into a soft hold; my head going on his shoulder, my face in the crook of his neck.
His cologne, that had lifted over the night, still wafted around him- comforting me.

"Thank you for being my friend, Timothée."
"No; thank you for being my friend, y/n."

"A toast, to y/n being the most talented out of all of us

"A toast, to y/n being the most talented out of all of us." Matt raises his glass, everyone else following suit.
"Matt, shut up, I don't even know if I got the part. Hell, I haven't even auditioned yet."

"No y/n, you shut up. The Russo brothers said they thought you were perfect for this role; if they didn't, they wouldn't have even called you." Julia deadpans.
"You know, I should be mad at you for doing that behind my back, Jules."
"What? They said they were looking for someone, and you fit every characteristic they listed."
"Still not cool.." I grumble.

"And also a toast to Julia for helping y/n, albeit in a creepy-in-the-shadows kind of way." Matt finishes, drinking the wine in his glass.
We all do the same, sitting down and digging in after.

"I received a text from them, wanting your contact information. Is it okay for me to give it to them?"
I nodded, my mouth full of food.
"Good, because I already sent it to them."
Everyone laughs, including me.

I swallowed the food, "I really hate you, Jules, you know that?"
She smiles, clinking our glasses together.
"Same here, kiddo."

Even though I have big things ahead of me, I wouldn't trade this for the world.
