Ivar had proved himself ten times over in the battle for Wessex. The victory had proved greater than that of Northumbria. Prince Aethelwulf had led his Father's forces straight into Ivar's well thought out trap. He had consulted his brothers before the battle and advised against their original plan of attack. With this came the retreat of the English army back to Wessex.

The Great Army followed not far behind. But upon your arrival, you found the castle and its defenses seemingly...deserted. You stood in Ivar's chariot, his hand snaked around your hip. Björn, Ubbe, Hvitserk, Sigurd, King Harald, Halfdan, and your maidens stood in line with the front of the chariot. All facing the castle and its unguarded walls. Once again led on Björn's word...the army charges, barrelling towards the castle. Ivar holds back on the chariot as you watch the army burst through the castle gates with the log barricade.

"Do you think they have left?" you ask

"Do you think they have left?" you ask.

"Perhaps...no doubt they know theirs was a lost cause." he smiles up at you.

"We shall burn this whole castle down to the ground, it would no doubt please our Father's and the All-Father" you speak passionately to him.

"On your lead...my love." he grins, motioning for you to take the reigns. You flash him a huge smile. He had never let anyone else steer it, his most precious chariot. But you notice that there is not enough room for you to stand and control the horse properly.

"Where will I stand?"

"You will sit...here," he smirks up at you, shifting back slightly in his seat, leaving space for you to sit in front of him, between his legs. You sit and he wraps his muscular arms around you, his hands holding your lower abdomen, as you go to take the reigns. The army had now flooded into the courtyard and you snap the reigns quickly to ensure no one notices that you stayed behind. Your warriors would no doubt notice your absence.

As you approach the gates you hear Halfdan shout to the gathered army.
