A drop of rain hits the tip of your nose. At first, you mistake it for blood or sweat. Which already covered various portions of your body. Then very suddenly, the courtyard and the streets that flow into it begin to grow dark. You gaze skyward and see a large black cloud begin to cover the sky, bringing with it an almighty downpour of freezing cold rain.

As you arrive at the side of the courtyard you are met with a large portion of The Great Army

As you arrive at the side of the courtyard you are met with a large portion of The Great Army. You begin to push your way through, far more violently than Hvitserk who is far behind you by the time you reach the front. Intent on finding Frigg and Siv, to make sure they are alive and well. You frantically look round, scanning everyone's faces. When Ubbe grabs your arm...

"Is everything alright? Where is Hvitserk?" he questions with a worried look on his face as he sees the way in which your eyes dart from person to person.

"He is just behind me" you mutter out, your eyes still wandering. "Where are Frigg and Siv?" you stutter as your voice grows impatient.

He points his sword across the courtyard. Siv and Frigg are stood, drenched in blood smiling over at you. Leading a small force of warriors behind them. They see the pained expression on your face, and their smiles fade...

Attempting to walk over to them, trying to figure out how you will tell them of your beloved Saga's death. You are stopped by Ubbe's sword, which bashes against your stomach. His eyes are fixed on something in the courtyard and as you look round to Frigg, Siv and their warriors, they are all looking in awe in the same direction.

And there, in the pouring rain sits Ivar

And there, in the pouring rain sits Ivar.

Sat with his back against his chariot, legs spread and blood dripping from his face. So much blood in fact, you wonder if he has cut his head. He lets out an ear-piercing scream, arms spread towards the Saxon force just ahead of him. You shift slightly, deciding whether or not you should intervene.

'Is this the Gods teaching him a lesson?' But just then, your thoughts are overwhelmed by a massive sense of loss. You think of losing Saga a few moments ago and the tears once again start to itch at your tear ducts. This feeling allows you to realize that you cannot...you will not...let anyone you love die in front of you again. And it is in this moment of realization that you choose to forgive him, for life is too short...
