i was going crazy, i could feel it. ever since i saw that picture of the park his voice wouldn’t leave my mind, his face haunted my dreams. i didn’t know what to make of it. when kat walked through the door unannounced i nearly had a heart attack.
“you alright?” she asked concerned.
“i don’t know,” i whined pacing the room.
“calum asked me to give you this,” she said sitting down on my bed placing an envelope down beside her.
“another one?” i asked sitting down beside her taking the envelope in my hands.
“he said this one’s different.”
“how?”
“he didn’t say,” kat replied.
“can you go ask him?” i asked hopefully.
“he didn’t come today.”
“oh,” i replied sadly fiddling with the envelope.
“sorry,” kat replied hugging my shoulders. “how’re you doing today though?”
“honestly i’m confused but i think i’m starting to remember him, all because of this picture,” i said showing kat the picture of the park.
“that’s great!” she exclaimed.
“i know but it’s freaking me out. all i can hear at night is his voice over and over again saying he loves me and he’s sorry. what’s he sorry for?”
“he thinks he’s the reason why you were in the accident. he blames himself for letting you drive back to my place.”
“what? no! he didn’t. did he? i don’t even know any more kat!” i cried, tears falling rapidly from my eyes, my sobbing becoming erratic.
“hey, hey, you’re doing great. just give it a little more time,” kat said pulling me into a tight hug while i cried relentlessly into her shoulder.
“i don’t think i can handle a little more time. i doubt calum can either.”
