The sunshine creeped through the thin burgundy curtains of an enormous room with a single queen sized bed in the center, where a (H/C) haired girl laid restlessly. She sleept enough yet she had no energy left to do anything.

It's been two days since she came to Paris, but she couldn't get out to explore the city of love because of the thick stacks of paperwork that still had to be filled. It was starting to get frustrating.

Y/N sighed and lazily stood up to walk to her desk. 'I shouldn't have that many files to look through now.' she thought, looking up at the clock to see what's the time. '9:30'

It was still early so she decided that she'd finish the work in approximately four hours and then she'd have her fifteen hour break.

Yes, fifteen.
She hadn't gone out of the bedroom at all in those 72 hours, not counting the trips to her connected bathroom, so a fifteen hour break sounded like something she deserved.

At around 14:00 she heard a knock on the door. Y/N let out a faint 'Come in.' without looking up from her files. Nathalie entered the room with a silver tray in her hands, her lunch.

"Miss Vessalius, it's better if you take a break now, it's lunch time." said the woman, slightly concerned about the other woman's wellbeing.

Y/N sent a kind smile to Nathalie and stored away the last pile of documents into a manila file folder, setting it aside on one end of her desk. "Thank you Nathalie, I just finished." she said standing up to walk over her.

She took the tray from her hands before speaking sheepishly: "Is Adrien eating lunch, right now? I'm honestly tired of staying locked in this place, it'd be nice to have some company."

The other blinked before nodding. She headed out of the room as a sign to follow her where her boss' son was eating. Nathalie was a tiny bit surprised, since the most she'd expected was for her to ask about Gabriel, not Adrien. Either way, they reached the dining room and she nodded before leaving.

Y/N muttered a quick 'Thank you' before entering the dining room, where Adrien was eating slowly with a miserable expression written all over his face.

"Hey Adrien, is something bothering you? You seem sad." she asked curiously, pulling out the chair next to him and sitting on it.

The boy looked up, masking his previous frown with a small smile. "Hi, no no I'm okay. I just feel a bit lonely when I'm eating on my own." he said bitterly as he took a bite out of his hot meal.

The woman gave him a grin. "Well, you're not alone anymore. Sorry for not showing up at all since the last time I met you and Gabriel, work has been... Exhausting." she confessed.

"It's okay, I understand. And besides you're here now."

She nodded and started eating quietly, choosing a topic to talk about. "Not to be that person but how's school? I heard this is the first year you've been learning in a public school."

"Yes and it's great! I've made new friends there, the teachers are nice too. I have no complaints. It does get stressful though, since I'm scared dad won't let me go if I get a bad grade." he opened up sincerely. It wasn't normal for him to talk about his life to others, but he felt like he could trust her a little.

Y/N sighed a little. "I feel bad for you then. I never understood why Gabriel is so secretive now."

They continued to chat until both of them were finished eating. The conversation flowed easily with the exception of two or three pauses of comfortable silence.

"What are you going to do now?" The woman asked as she got up from the table. She was about to get her and Adrien's plate to wash them but a maid took both before she could and scurried away.

"I'm going to practice piano for about an hour and then I have my Chinese lesson at 4:45. What about you?" said the teenager looking up at the other.

"I just finished all of my paperwork so I have no intention of going back to do that again. Mind if I listen to you play? I have nothing to do." The 31 year old said pathetically.

The blond nodded with a smile as he lead her to his room. He opened the door and quickly looked around for Plagg. He was on his bed, looking at him. Adrien motioned him to hide.
"Sorry, my room's a mess." he said.

"Oh don't worry about it. Damn, you have a grand piano in your room?" Y/N asked dumbfounded as she stared at the instrument before her.

The boy chuckled and sat down on the seat of the piano. He started tapping the notes, a beautiful melody coming out of them. Not wanting to disturb, Y/N quietly sat on the bed and observed the boy playing.

He played so effortlessly well, it was mesmerizing. For a second the woman saw a younger Gabriel in that seat, the passion they played with was the same. She shook that thought away and closed her eyes, enjoying the tune that was filling the manor with peace as it started to rain lightly outside.

He played different pieces as time passed, each as magnificently as the last. Soon an hour passed and Adrien decided to take a little break since playing alone wasn't as fun. He stood up and looked at the woman, sitting beside her. "Do you know how to play any instruments?" he asked

"I can play the piano, but it's been some time since I did." she said as she leaned back on the bed and put her weight on her arms.

At that, Adrien's eyes lit up a little, as he thought about making his rehearsal a little more fun. "Would you like to play a piece together?"

"Sure" she said, standing up and sitting on the piano's seat while leaving him some space to sit as well. "Do you know your father's favorite piece? I'm pretty sure you do."

"Canon D by Pachelbel, right? Haven't heard that in so long." he replied, positioning himself infront of the instrument his family loved.

"It's okay" she reassured him with a smile. Together, they started to play the piece.

Gabriel had just finished sketching some of his new designs and decided to take a stroll around the house when he heard a melody he hadn't heard in years. His, Emilie and Y/N's favorite.

Slowly, he made his way to Adrien's room, careful not to get in and ruin the moment.
He peeked his head in the room, glancing at the pair playing in a carefree way, with smiles on their lips. He suddenly remembered Adrien's words: "After all, music is meant to be shared with other people, don't you think?"
He sighed but stayed behind the door, in a peaceful state of mind.

After finishing, Y/N clapped her hands again, pleasantly surprised. "Woah I'm proud of you, you're so good." she said.

"Thank you. You are too, though," he started, taking a deep breath. "Recently my father has been making me play the same piece I created over and over, the cycle was getting tiring." he admitted.

Gabriel flinched ever so slightly at the mention of his name on the other side of the room, but kept his cool as he listened intently.

The woman raised her hand and patted the younger boy's head in a motherly way, "I understand, but he probably just wanted you to play it so much you can't get it wrong." she said sympathetically.

She tried to take his mind off of that topic so he wouldn't feel uncomfortable. "Hey, wanna hear my first song? I remember letting your mother hear it and she was wanted to slap me because she didn't want me to write sad songs." she reminisced giggling.

The man outside of the room furrowed his eyebrows slightly. 'When did she write a song? And Emilie heard it? Why didn't I?' he thought. He had so many questions that will be answered very, very soon.

Adrien's head perked up at the mention of his mother but he nodded nonetheless. "Sure, what's the name of it?"

"𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒈𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒕"
