"So-" Gabriel started, sitting on the sofa after taking his cup of tea. "-would you like to talk about the past? I'm quite curious to know what happened while you were in (C/N)"
Y/N took a sip of her hot drink and nodded. 'I barely even remember, to be honest' "I finished high school there, then I started to adore fashion and singing but I had to choose one career: so I choose fashion designing."
She paused to take a macaroon out of the porcelain plate. "I've worked on my brand for about four or five years now" While talking her eyebrows furrowed a little: if she had problems remembering these things now, imagine what will happen later on.
"You must be very pleased with the success you've been getting recently, given the fact you've struggled for half a decade." he said, after drinking his beverage. He knew how proud he felt when he received the praise and riches he worked so hard for. It was worth it.
Y/N nodded with a small smile, finishing the macaroon she had taken. Her thoughts were divided into two categories while she listened to Gabriel: 'I have to find out where they got these macaroons from.' and 'He acknowledged my work! Even though he didn't even know I had a company. He probably trusts me enough.'
Not knowing how to continue the conversation, she tried to think of a topic to introduce: something a little unexpected, something she could talk about for a while. 'The weird cat guy and bug lady'
"Before coming here I heard something about superheroes in Paris, on the news. Mind filling me in?" She asked, raising her eyebrows at the male sitting in front of her, a little grin etched on her face.
Gabriel straightened up a little bit, complying to her request. "There's a pair of Parisians that work together to fight the hypnotized, or akumatized, victims of Hawkmoth, sent to take their 'miraculous'-I believe. This boy and girl have surreal powers through their accessories linked to divine creatures." he said, trying to give an exhaustive explanation.
The woman sitting in front of him nodded, absorbing every information she heard. She chuckled a bit, because she thought that was rather ridiculous. "Bizarre indeed. And what's the motive behind these attacks?"
"That's what the media is trying to figure out." He shrugged subtly. "I believe he just wants power."
'You really think I'd tell you?' he thought, hiding the little evil smirk he had.
The large doors of the mansion's entrance opened, revealing a teenager with bright well-kept, blond hair and emerald eyes. His eyes turned to look at the dining room's direction when he heard a feminine voice saying: "Maybe he has a plausible reason? A bored or sadistic man. We'll never know."
'Who could it be?' he wondered. His curiosity got the best of him and he peaked his head in the living/dining room to see."Maybe he has a plausible reason? A bored or sadistic man. We'll never know." Y/N said, shrugging lightly. She thought it was just someone childish, probably seeking revenge.
Gabriel became a tiny bit offended when the woman said "bored", his eyebrows sharpening. He definitely wasn't bored! He was about to say something but he noticed someone's head peeking from the door. He the tiniest of smiles formed on his lips when he acknowledged him. "Adrien, come in."
Y/N turned around at the mention of the young boy's name, eyeing him just as curious.
Adrien walked in shyly, nervous he got caught so quickly. He nodded to the woman in front of him and smiled.
"He's Adrien, my son. Adrien, this is Y/N Vessalius, an-" he paused for a second to think, while the woman's smile widened. "an old friend."
As soon as he was finished talking, the woman stood up, and raised her hand for a handshake from the boy. "It's nice to finally meet you, Adrien." she said as she gave him the sweetest smile she could muster.
Adrien did the same, his smile unwavering. "It's nice to meet you too."
Y/N took a good look at his eyes, they reminded her of someone, Emilie. "Your eyes look-" 'No, I don't think he'd want to hear about his mother right now.' "... Eye catching." she concluded, snapping her finger and giving him a finger gun, awkwardly. 'Today seems like a good day to bury myself.'
Y/N and Adrien both chuckled at the woman's remark.
A "sorry" and a "thank you" flew out of their mouths at the same time, one from Y/N and the other from the kid as Gabriel watched quietly. 'She hasn't changed one bit.'
While shaking her head a little to forget what just happened, the guest turned towards the man. "Well, I think it's time to go now. I came here as soon as I landed and I need to find a hotel first." she said, looking to the side to avoid eye contact..
He blinked. 'As soon as the plane landed?' "You could stay here if you want, we have guest rooms available." he proposed, without even thinking clearly about it. 'Fantastic.' he thought sarcastically.
Y/N smiled at him kindly before talking. "Thank you for the offer but no, it's fine." She would've said yes but overstaying is definitely not a good thing and she wanted to seem independent.
At this point Gabriel just went with it, besides a little company wouldn't hurt any of them. "Stay" he insisted.
Adrien looked up at his father: it was unusual for him to ask someone to stay. He fiddled with the hem of his shirt as he listened quietly.
Adrien wasn't the only one shocked, Y/N was too. Today seemed full of surprises. She eyed the man carefully, scrutinizing him a little. "Alright, but not for long, I don't intend to overstay." she said as she stopped staring at him and looked away, a little lost on what to do or say.
"Well then," he started, giving the tiniest smile again, "𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 to have you with us."
