The Story Continued (Ghost Hunt)

Chapter 5

The dining area looked like a luxurious restaurant. Mai spotted her friends sitting at one of the many tables in the room. It wasn't that hard. They were the only people there after all, and pretty loud too. The girl and her boss approached the table. "Mai!" The monk said as he noticed the girl. "Is everything ok, Mai?" Madoka asked concerned. She noticed that the girl's face was red. A few tears were all it took to make her look like a tomato. "Naru, what did you do to her?" Bou-san spoke again joking.

Naru didn't react but Mai decided to defend him as she finally decided to take a seat. "Stop that, Bou-san. Naru didn't do anything. He has been a lot nicer lately." The girl finished and the whole table burst out laughing. Even Lin had a smile on his face and Masako was chuckling covering herself with her kimono sleeve. Mai looked at her friends confused.

"Well, we said before that Naru was acting strange but it's only towards you Mai." Ayako stated and Yasuhara agreed. "Just now when you were asleep the big boss was already ordering everyone around like always."

"He even called me stupid. Can you believe it?" Gene cut in. Naru, who until now was glaring at every single member of the SPR, argued with his brother. "You were acting stupid so I called you stupid. I see no problem." The boy then took a sip of the tea Mr. Suzuki prepared for them about an hour ago. To no surprise, it was already cold. Disappointed he turned at the sound of a voice speaking. "Well, it would be no fun if Naru suddenly became all nice and friendly. There would be no one to scold me for always being late." Mai laughed a little then smiled at her boss.

The team still had an hour more until 13 o'clock but after some more chatting and Mai having probably the best apple pie she ever had in her life they decided to head back to the waiting area. To their surprise, they weren't alone anymore. Sitting at a wooden table was a group of three. Middle-aged man and woman and a teenager. Or so he looked. Before arriving at the hotel Yasu decided to check out not only the place but also the other researchers. The man might have looked like a teenager but was in fact already in his late 20s.

"Damn, what's with him?" Bou-san asked scratching his head. "I bet you want to look this young." Ayako smirked at him. "At least I don't look like an old witch." This quickly turned into an argument between the couple and a very loud situation for the rest. Naru decided to ignore them."Who are they?" The boss looked at his researcher. "A couple with their son." He started but was soon cut off. "From Osaka. Nakamura Takashi. His wife Keiko and son Riku. A family business." Madoka said proudly. Yasu glared at the woman the whole time she was speaking. "Do you really have to?" He asked but the woman just smiled at him. "I'm just doing my job."

"She's going to replace me. I know it. I knew it. I'm not needed anymore." Yasu started talking under his breath. This was heard by Gene who was sitting within arms reach. It made the boy laugh.

Soon all the other teams arrived. Five teams in total and even tho Yasu and Madoka had information on all of them Naru just couldn't bother asking. The only group he was wondering about was the group of 6 teenagers probably between 16 and 18. The first thing that irritated him was their excitement because this could mean they were amateurs. And that meant his equipment might be destroyed in the following days. Well, it was insured but they still might disturb their work. The group was also annoyingly loud. So loud the SPR could hear their whole conversation.

"Ah, look at them."

"I thought we would be the biggest group. But ten people really?"

"But don't you think they have some good-looking guys?"

"They are too old for you."

"Surely not all of them."

"Wanna ask?"

"Ask what?"

"Idk. Their number?"

"But you're coming with me, all of you."

The girls then approached the group. They approached Naru, Gene, Yasu and John. Madoka and Ayako were giving them clear glares from the beginning but Lin and the monk might have been already counted into the 'too old' group anyway. The girl that went for Naru got a response before she could even talk. A simple "Go away." was all it took to demotivate the girl from trying.

"Ey, pretty boy. You single?" Said the girl who tried her chance with Gene. A very confident character...however, it went like this. "I can't say I'm not, at the moment." Gene answered and the girl smiled. "Then-" she started but was soon cut off. "But you see. This pretty boy is not interested in girls. However your friends over there." He said pointing at the two boys who were a part of that group and smiled. The girl got the message and took two steps back.

"And you?" Another girl who was until now watching her friend and Gene asked looking at Yasu. The boy stuttered but eventually managed to answer. "Actually, I'm also into guys."

However, the girl next to John was getting more persistent and well, annoying. And John was too nice of a person to say a clear no.

Masako sighed. Time to rise and shine. The girl got up from her seat next to John, turned to face the girl and formally...screamed right into her face. "Ey, young lady, would you mind getting away from my husband!? Not I nor our kids like the idea of you basically throwing yourself at him!" I think I don't have to say it worked. The girls were now as far away from the group as they could. Masako then sat back down. She covered herself with her sleeve and proudly said. "I forbid you from doubting my acting skills."

No one was, Masako. No one was.

The owner finally arrived and explained...everything The group already knew. The ghost attacking women. It all starting when he got engaged. He also introduced everyone. So after two hours wasted waiting and another hour of learning nothing knew they finally got the keys to their rooms and the base.

The group quickly moved their luggage and the equipment to the base and started setting up the cameras to get the best spots. Mai had a list of the most haunted places in the hotel and that's where Naru told the group to place the cameras.

Lin and Madoka went to the girls changing room at the indoor pool where girls were constantly attacked. Ayako and Bou-san were at the staircase where they were being pushed down the stairs and Yasu and Gene were in the only room that showed more activity than any other, room 001. Masako and John were walking around to see if Masako could sense anything while taking the temperature and Mai and Naru were at the base watching from the monitors to see if the camera's angles were good.

But now we are with Yasu and Gene. "So, you're gay too?"
