In The Heat of the Moment

Chapter 6: Part 3

Brock's POV

I got out of the shower and saw Cass laying on my bed with my fleece Minnesota Vikings blanket. All seven dogs were laying around her and my German Shepherd, Ace. was laying on my pillow. I chuckle and finished getting dressed. I looked over my shoulder and at the clock. My kids' flight was landing in an hour, but thankfully the airport was only about fifteen minutes from my house. I tightened my belt and went over to Cassie. I sat on the bed and looked at her. She was curled in an 'S' shape. I moved over to the curve in her stomach.

I kept watching her as she rested. I smile thinking back to the past four months. I was happy once again and my kids already loved her, even though they hadn't met her in person yet. I knew she was nervous about them meeting her, but I knew she would do fine.

**Flashback**

I got onto my laptop and send Cass a text.

Me: Hey want to video chat? My kids want to meet you.

Cass: Sure thing.

I send her a quick message saying that I was ready when she was and called my kids over. Mya and Luke were home from college and Turk and Duke were home from their mother's house. They all around me as I click to call. After the third ring, there she was. Her beautiful face with a bright wide smile. "Hey Cass," I smirk as I waved slightly, but before she could reply the kids all just saying hi and asking how she was. It made me smile how interactive they were with her.

"Hey everyone how are you guys?" she questions with a smile. They all answered her with either a good or great, but they started an onslaught of questions. I chuckled to myself as she answered their questions and made small talk with them. I leaned back and watched the five talk. I couldn't help but watch Cassie and how she was so patient with my kids. The way she acted, towards my kids, started to cause my mind to wander. I know I already had four kids, but I was always willing to have more.

Once the kids were getting tired I told Cassie that I would be back, after I was done putting the younger two to bed. I walk back to the living room and saw that only Mya was still on with Cass. I stepped back when I heard a small whimper of a cry come from Mya.

"I don't know Cassie. I've never had a long-lasting mother figure, and I have always wanted a mother figure who would act like an actual mother to me and my siblings," I couldn't help but smile as I feel my heart swell up with passion and love. My daughter was consoling to my girlfriend, as if she was her mother. "What do you think I could do Cassie?" my daughter's laugh, filled with sadness, nearly broke my heart.

"Mya, sweetie, listen... I know how it feels to not have a mother in my life. My mom wanted nothing to do with me from the moment I was born, but I had my dad. He helped me become the woman I am today. I thought the same way. I wished I had a mother figure, but you know what Mya, sweetheart...?"

"Yeah Cass?"

"You have the best dad in the world. There's nothing your father wouldn't do for you and your siblings. He talks about you guys none stop and how proud he is of not just you, but your brothers," I could hear the smile in her voice, and I felt a tear slip from my eye.

"Thank you so much Cass! Will there be a chance we can meet you soon? Also can I have your number so I can talk to you more? I like talking to you."

"Sure thing and I'm sure I can make a trip out the next time you're with your dad."

"Okay."

**End of Flashback**

I sat there, looking at Cassie. She was asleep and she looked so peaceful. I look at the clock and see that it was five-thirty. I shake her shoulder and she starts to wake up. "Hey we got to go pick up my kids. I can carry you to the truck so that way you can wake up fully," she nods her head and I pick her up. We get to the truck and I place her in the front passenger seat. As I start to close the door she starts to fully wake up. Over to the driver side, I went and backed up the truck.
