Brock's POV

I started to wake up, but I was slow to open my eyes. When my eyes were fully opened I was met by two people on my left and one on my right. I try to sit up, but I was stopped by the person on the right. "Where am I?" I groaned as I try to push myself into a sitting position.

The person on the right gently pushed me onto my back and sighed, "Sir you are at the Prairie Lakes Healthcare in Watertown, South Dakota," he answered.

I nod my head as I looked at him, but soon there was a sharp, shooting pain in my left shoulder. "Ow! What the fuck was that all about!?" I exclaim in sheer pain.

"Sir you were shot in your left shoulder. We were able to remove the bullet and repair any damage that the shooting had caused. But I do have to let you know that you need to be careful with that shoulder for the next month or so. I want you back in, for a check-up, in a month from now. I'm going to go get your release papers and get you out of this bed. Your clothes and belongings are in that chair. I'll be right back."

He leaves the room, with the other two right behind him. I stand up slowly, not moving my shoulder, and get changed into my clothes. As I was about to put my left arm through the sleeve, there was a knock. "Come in," I call. The door opens and Steph walks through the door, with three kids, that I had never seen, behind her. "Steph it's good to see you, but mind helping me?" I ask her nicely. She nods her head and helped me into the other sleeve. "Who are these three?" I inquire as I sit back on the bed.

"This is Jake, Preslee, and Riley. They're the siblings Cassie as full custody of."

"Speaking of Cassie... where is she?"

"She's asleep in her room. The doctors said that she was pretty mangled," she sighed heavily.

"I'll be going over into her room, as soon as I'm released. I just need to know what room she's in," the doc came back in and had me sign my release forms. "Hey um doc, I have a couple of questions for you," I start.

"Yes sir?"

"Was there a girl that I came in with?"

"Yes there was, but I can't give you any information unless you are related to her," I sighed heavily and smirked.

"Sir I'm her husband," I fibbed. "And I'm extremely worried about my wife."

"She is in room 106, just down the hall. She's stable thankfully, but I don't know much of her injuries. I'm not her doctor. Is that all of your questions?"

"Yes sir. That was all," he nods his head and walks out of the room. I stood up and ushered everyone out of the room. I led the way to the room, and just as we make it to the room, a doctor walks out. "Excuse me, sir, is this the room for Cassidy Hunter?"

"I am not allowed to give out that information."

"But sir, this is Cassidy Hunter's husband. We need to make sure that we made it to the right room," Steph intercepted. I smirk as she used the term husband.

"Oh, my apologies sir. Yes this is Cassidy Hunter's room."

"Are we able to go see her? Or at least be in the room to wait until she wakes up?"

"I don't see why not. I have to go put a few more details in her profile and I will be back. She should be awake within the next half hour."

"Okay. Steph why don't you take the kids into the room? I need to speak with the doctor," I point towards the door to the room. "If that's okay?" I question the doc.

"Sure thing," I waited until they were in the room.

"Mind if we walk and talk? I really need to get this into her file," the doc gently asks me.
