America had just ended chemistry. He was exhausted. First days were no joke.
"C'mon Ame! We gotta go to the school gym." South sighed as he kneeled down to be eye-level with him. America sighed as he rests his chin on his hands. He saw the country from earlier in the morning packing up.
"Hey South.." America asked still staring at him.
"Yea?"
"Who's that tall kid. He's in most of our classes right?" South followed America's gaze. He looked at the country who was now talking to Germany.
"Oh, Russia?"
"That's his name?" America perked up a little, interested.
"Yea. He's north's friend, often comes over. He's also good friends with Germany and he knows Japan and Nekomi." South explained turning back to America once the 'Russia' kid had left.
America was mildly surprised. Russia had been friends with his friends so how come they've never spoken to each other. Sure they've met each other a few times. They've just never talked only nods or small waves.
"Ame, we gotta go. We don't want to be late." South whined as he tugged at America's arm.
"O-oh right!" America leapt up as he grabbed his things and made his way with south to the gym. Hopefully meeting Japan, Nekomi, Poland or Germany on the way.
"Good luck bro!" he felt someone ruffle his hair as he walked through the hallways. He looked back and saw a grinning Canada. He shot finger guns and a smirk back.
"Hey, don't sweat it, okay bro? It's in your blood." Australia grinned as he gave America a hug. America returned it gratefully.
"Thanks." he sighed as he and south continued their journey, not running into any of their friends.
They made it into the hall in time to see students lining up based on their primary gender. He and South placed their bags down and headed to the line for males.
The wait was...long and boring. South, America, Philippine and Russia started playing never have I ever. South and America had started first then Philippine wanted to join and dragged Russia over. It was pretty intense. America and Russia only had 2 fingers, Philippine had 3 while South had 4.
It was America's turn, "Never have I ever dreamt of becoming a singer."
South groaned. Philip pouted. America laughed. They all gasped in shock when Russia put down a finger as well.
"NoOOo WaaaAAaY!" America wheezed. Russia's cheek burned in embarrassment.
"Shut up," he muttered.
Philippine decided to continue.
"Never have I ever . . . . dressed up as a girl." Philippine grinned as he watched America and South put down a finger each.
"I'm gonna get back at you Philip. Never have I ever gone into the ER." South hissed as he forgot about America.
"Dude! Don't sabotage me too!" America gasped in shock as Philippine pouted and put a finger down.
"Oh, shit, sorry Ame, I forgot."
"DUDE! So not cool!" America groaned as he sat out.
Russia wordlessly sat down with America.
South looked impressed. Now it was South with 2 fingers up and Philippine with 1 finger.
"Never have I ever not gone a meal without rice," South smirked as Philippine whined in defeat. Just as he opened his mouth to complain, he was called up.
"Philippine, wing 4."
Philippine got up glaring at South before moving to wing 4. Now it was just Russia, America and South sitting around awkwardly waiting for their turn.
" Hey-" America didn't get far before he and Russia were called.
He stood up and winked, mouthing good luck to South and Russia as he headed to find wing 7.
.
.
America crumpled into his bed, groaning in relief. The nurses had taken blood tests, checked height, weight and other health factors. At the end of it, he was ready to just go home and crash.
He really wanted to know the results already.
"Hey Ame, how was it...you seem tired."
America turned his head to see Canada in the doorway.
"Yea. It was tiring. Results don't come out until much later."
"Okay then." Canada smiled and left.
.
.
a few days later:
.
.
America was jittery. Very jittery. South wasn't as fidgety as America. You can't blame America, he hated waiting.
However, over these few days of waiting, he had made some new friends. Philip and Russia from his class, Finland from gym and Estonia from Finland.
"Alright class I have the results of your Secondary gender test, please come up when I call your name and collect your file." The teacher explained as she had a stack of files on her desk Everyone went quiet as she began to give them out.
Those who had received theirs were mostly content, jumping with joy or downcast.
"America." America leapt up and walked forward to collect his file. He nodded graciously and returned to his seat. He was nervous, holding his breath, he opened the file and found the page with his secondary gender. he sighed in relief and disappointment.
Good news. He wasn't an omega. Bad news, he was a beta. Not even a delta. He supposed it was better than being an omega though.
The teacher dismissed the class and everyone scrambled around to see each other's results.
Philipinnes and Russia came over. Philippine looked pretty down though.
"So what are your results?" America asked as he held up his paper.
South, Philippine and Russia held up their papers.
South was a Delta, Russia and Alpha and Philipinnes was an omega. he quickly put down his file. He looked on the verge of tears.
America said nothing and immediately embraced him in a hug, letting the slightly smaller country sob into his blazer.
South shot him a pitiful look. Russia just ruffled Philip's hair. After a bit of waterworks, Philip finally calmed down.
"Hey if your brother's not an Alpha, you can rub it in his face. Remember to invite me." America smirked as South's eyes lit up. This caused the other 3 to chuckle.
