{13} Murder

'As I said before she is resting so leave before I make you!' I say becoming more forceful to the man.

I don't know what came over me. Whether it was the rush of standing up for myself or the de ja vu from my gang days resurfacing in my memories but I felt powerful.

He curses me under his breath but walks away in a sulk.

'That was hot.' Taehyung says making me laugh as he looks me up and down.

We proceed to get our food and sit down at a table next to each other.

'So what happened to that girl and what's with the angry asshole?' Taehyung says before tucking into his food.

'I can't tell you just yet. But I can confirm he really is an asshole.' I says as Taehyung smiles brightly.

'I admire the fact that you keep patient confidentiality even in this life.' He says licking his lips.

I laugh at his actions and reply 'I'm just keeping the girl safe. She was so terrified and I hated seeing her like that.'

'I can imagine' he says placing his hand over mine that lay on the table.

'Oh and by the way, I'm sorry I didn't ask you before but I let the girl and Jess hide in our room from the man.'

He lets out an airy laugh and says 'it's ok, shall we go and check on them?'

I nod and we leave after clearing away our rubbish.

'Y/N! PLEASE COME QUICKLY!' Jess screams in tears with irregular breaths.

'What happened?!' I say as she says nothing over her cries and drags me upstairs while running.

Taehyung follows quickly behind as she speeds through the corridors and to my room.

'Oh my god!' I say seeing Katie's lifeless pale body on the floor.

Hovering above her was Jess's couple preforming CPR.

I sprint next to the girl and immediately take over with the chest compressions.

Without hesitation I preform mouth to mouth, tilting her head slightly back and holding her nose.

I sing a song in my head to keep the beat of the compressions as a crowd starts to form outside the corridor.

'It was the boyfriend! He killed her!' Jess shouts out in tears pretty traumatised from witnessing the ordeal as her couple hold her tightly in his arms.

'Taehyung help me and support her head.'

He immediately rushes over and holds onto her neck as I carry on with the CPR.

Tears begin to build in my eyes as it has now been 15 minutes.

Mr Kim appears through the crowd to see the commotion happening infront of us.

'How long has she been doing cpr for' he asks Jess to which she replies '15 minutes' trying to keep in her tears.

'Y/N she's gone.' He says but I ignore him, too much in denial of the situation.

I carry on through my tears and anger.

'Baby please stop... Y/N it's ok to stop... baby stop!' Tae says pulling me away from the body.

'No please no!' I shout trying to get to her again.

'Shhhh' he coos holding me in his embrace. 'You did good Y/N but it's time to stop.' He whispers stroking the back of my head that hides in his chest as we sit on the floor.

'Find him and kill him.' I whisper to Tae as he rocks me in his arms.

I finally find it in me to keep in my tears as Mr Kim evacuates everyone from the area.

'I need some kind of sheet or tarpaulin to wrap the body in.' I say shoving down my emotions and standing up out of Tae's grip.

'We will get someone else to move her. You don't need to Y/N' Mr Kim says in shock.

I nod but speak up. 'If his punishment isn't death, then I will do it myself.'

I leave the room feeling nothing but  rage and sorrow.

'Tae please gather the leading council in the meeting room.' I hear Mr Kim say to his son.

I immediately walk to the meeting room and sit down while waiting for everyone to join.

They do slowly looking at me with a pitiful expressions. I guess word spreads quick.

Taehyung and his father finally join the room and as my boyfriend sits next to me, he wraps his arm tightly around my waist and pulls me to lean onto his body.

I give him a small forced smile as he wipes away a tear falling from my red eyes.

Mr Kim then begins to speak.

'As you have probably heard, a girl was killed today. The perpetrator was her boyfriend who had been abusing, threatening and raping her during these past few days.

She was strangled to death and after a mighty effort from our medical team, unfortunately she did not wake up.

The protectors have the man locked in a room for the time being...

We are here now to talk about the punishment we believe fit for him.'

The group takes a minute to think about what they believe we should do.

One women speaks up. 'I have always believed in reformation of a criminal but these are dark times we face here...and so I would like to put forward the idea of capital punishment.'

There is a moment of silence in which people are shocked but also debating whether they agree or not.

'I think that is the only option we have here.' Tae speaks up. 'I know all life is very valuable at this time in our lives but I believe in this case, a life for a life...sounds fair.'

I speak up as well agreeing to the punishment.

'We can't risk letting someone like this reoffend. You can try and change him all you want but people like that just can't be controlled'

We discuss how it would work and who would be executing the punishment while I hold on tightly to Tae's hand.

'Taehyung' One of the council members speak up. 'As an ex-military personnel, I hate to say this but I think you should be the one to shoot him.'

Based on Taehyung's reaction I think he saw this coming. After a moment of silence he nods gently.

He looks my way and meets my gaze as I can't help but feel concerned. I shake my head as he runs his thumb over my knuckles.

I hate seeing him like this. He looks as if he is trying to keep down memories from the army...
