Chapter Twenty-one: Ignorance & Guilt

When Mina entered her car and left Chaeyoung yesterday, she had thought to take a turn and follow Chaeyoung to apologize especially when it started to rain, but her pride is not allowing her to.

She went home with Chaeyoung in her thoughts.

Mina texted Nayeon yesterday if she would like to meet up with her. The latter agreed so here she is, currently wearing her shoes as she prepares to meet with Nayeon at a café.

When she slept, she thought of Chaeyoung, when she woke up the first thing she thought of was Chaeyoung. She felt guilty, yes but her pride and ego is convincing her not to call and apologize to the girl. She knew it was her fault after all.

She went out of her apartment and quicjly enter her car, starting engine and drove off to the café.

When Mina entered the café, she immediately spotted Nayeon, especially cause Nayeon's beauty outstand all the customers.

" Hey Nayeon-unnie, I like your short hair " Mina greeted as soon as she had a good distance between her and her unnie. Nayeon smiles at her and thank the girl for the compliment.

" Hey Myoui, what made you text me and hang out all of a sudden? " Nayeon asks as she sips her choco fudge frappe.

Mina shrugs, " How's life? " She asks the older girl. Nayeon looks at her, like really look at her, quickly searching something in her eyes.

" Something's wrong, right? " The older girl asks causing for the actress to groan, she forgot that Nayeon could easily read her like a book.

" Yeah " Mina mumbles, dragging her hand from her forehead to her chin dramatically.

" How's dating the person you hate? " Nayeon asks her, when the latter didn't answer immediately and give her the wandering eyes, she knew something was wrong.

" Did you fought? " She asks again, looking at he, sipping her frappe, like she's sipping for any tea that Mina might tell her.

" Haha nope " The actress chuckles nervously, hoping that Nayeon does not notice. Nayeon on the other hand rolls her eyes.

" Alright, " Nayeon nods, not wanting to push the other girl, until she was ready to tell her what actually happened. Mina then sighs, quickly thinking if she should tell her or not.

" Do you like her? " Nayeon asks, now directly looking at the latter with seriousness. Mina look at her, deep in thought.

/ Do I like her? I couldn't possibly like her, I mean that's possible but I couldn't, this is just an infantuation, right? / Mina thought, sighing.

She shakes her head no, before looking at the older girl. " Uhuh, then why are you acting like you really cared for her? " The latter interrogates her.

The interrogation is making Mina annoy lightly. " I'm just a caring person " She mumbles, looking at her car keys before fumbling with them.

Nayeon didn't push it further, seeing that this topic was sensitive for the actress. " Enough with the sad tension! Anyway, I heard you have an upcoming drama? " She asks again, trying to lit the dry tension between them.

This cause Mina to finally smile, " Yup! I won't spoil the title but it's gonna be awesome! You can start your magic in me again " She says with a proud smile in her face, clearly dismissing the recent topic they discussed.

This cause Nayeon to chuckle, " When do you start working? " She asks, excitement visible in her tone.

Mina thought for a second, " Next month, 2nd week, I still need to discuss a few things with Jihyo though " She says, fumbling with her keys. Nayeon nods, then there's silence after.

The silence caused her to think of Chaeyoung again. It was raining hard and it will take a lot longer especially since the latter decided to walk. The thought of Chaeyoung being sick is making heart quake in guilt.

Even though she knew she overreacted, she can't help it, she actually felt rage, jealousy and anger all in the same time and it's not the best when it all mix because the outcome will not be great.

She felt bad when she remembered Chaeyoung's wound from the freaky girl yesterday. It wasn't entirely bleeding but it looks bad and she bet it's gonna make a mark.

" Hey, Mina are you okay? " Nayeon asks as she notice the latter looking like she is in deep thought.

Mina snaps out of it, looking at the girl before looking down, sighing. " No, not really, I just feel guilty " She says.

/ Whoomp, there it is / Nayeon thought, she clears her throat before saying, " Why are you guilty? " she again sips her frappe looking at the girl.

" I- just, it's making me guilty because I,  overreacted and I'm sure she's ill because I let her walk alone in the rain " She mumbles, when Nayeon heard this she accidentally spits her drink. Mina chuckles before she playfully makes a face of disgust.

" You're Gro- YOU MADE HER WALK ALONE IN THE RAIN?! " The older yelled, cutting the other girl across her seat, forgetting the fact that they weren't the only one in the area.

The customers all look at the short-hair girl looking at her like she has lost her mind. Mina then stands up before bowing as an apology.

" Sorry " Nayeon says in a cute voice, giving her a peace sign. Mina chuckles as she shakes her head.

" Did you actually made her walk alone?! " Mina looks at her before nodding, Nayeon then smacks her head. " Oww, what was that for?! " The actress exclaims as she rubs her head.

" For leaving the poor child alone, you deserve that by the way " Nayeon says before smacking her again. Mina glared at her, " That's for telling me to hang out just now " She says and again smacks the latter again. Mina looks at her, giving her a if-you-smack-me-again-i'll-kill-you look.

Nayeon was not scared and smacks the latter again, " That's for your upcoming movie " Mina chuckles.

" Just call her and stop being a coward! " Nayeon suggests, sipping her frappe, but looks at it when she didn't feel anything only to see that it's empty.

Mina looks down, thinking as she taps her fingers on the table, should she? Maybe, Chaeyoung actually deserve it.

So she fishes her phone in her pocket and dialed her number, it rang and a raspy voice answered it.

" H-hey Chaeyoung "

That was interesting right? Anyways next chapter will be Chaeyoung's side of the story and  the continuation for this.
