It’s been a week since I finished high school. I’m happy that all of my works paid off by receiving the most outstanding student of the year with the final average of 97.81. I took exams on some top university and my family has no issue about the school I’m going kasi marami rin namang tao ang nagbigay sakin ng scholarship though we have family business na makakapagtaguyod sa pag-aaral ‘ko, I’ll just use ‘em to lessen the money we have to use sa aking tuition fee.

Naghihintay nalang ako tawag at email sa mga university. My top pick university is Southwestern International College, pero nagtake din ako sa Divine Mercy State College, one of the best college in my province, pwede akong mag-uwian para hindi ako mamiss nina mama.

“Kuya Cyan, someone is looking for you.” My little sister, Cielo, said. Bumangon agad ako at sumilip sa may bintana.

“Sh*t.” I cursed. “Let them in. Tell yaya to prepare some food for them.”

“Mama is now talking to them. Dress yourself.” She said and left. I take a look of myself at the mirror. I’m still topless and wearing short, nakakahiya sa bisita.

I rushed myself on dressing up, clean and neat, making sure that I look presentative to them. I sigh as I passed the mirror.

“Good morning.” I greeted them with a smile.

They are the representative of SIC. Malakas ang tibok ng puso ko ng makita ko sila. Binawi ko nalang ito sa ngiti.

“I’m Cyrus Andre Suarez, a graduate from St. Anne Academy.”

“I’m Mrs. Natalie Hermosa from Southwestern International College, I’m the representative. Hindi na ako nag-atubili pang magsend ng email. So I just want to meet you personal since ikaw ang top student from your previous school. It’s my pleasure to face the future student of the college. By the way, we’ll be having a one on one interview because you are one of the lucky students who are able to study on our school, this is the final qualification for students. Nang matapos ang ilang oras naone on one interview ay nagpaalam na si Ms. Natalie. Nakahinga na ako ng maluwag.

Sakto din naman ang pagbalik ni Dad, he just came home from working abroad for a month.

"Lemme help you, dad." sabi ko at nilagay sa isang tabi ang mga dala-dala niya.

"Oh Cyan, who's been here just now?" Dad asked.

"Representative from S.I.C po. And guess what?! I'm qualified." Masayang balita ko and that made him draw a smile on his lips and tapped my shoulder, "I'm so proud of you, Cyan."

Even though he's not my biological father he always gives me support. My dad died before I was born. And i gave my mom a chance to love again and he found my step-dad who accept her full-hearted, that's why I have a 5 years old sibling named Cielo.

"Good for you, what are you going to study? For sure, you have made your own decision, right? Business admistration or engineering? Well both of them will help you run our company." Dad said.

"Engineering po. I guess I want to part of the procument team so I can share my thoughts about new products and such an—" he cleared his throat so I stopped talking.

"Hindi ka pa na nakakapagsimula sa college, you've already thinking about working. Just enjoy your college life. Don't mind the work, you still have things to learn, lil' man." and he raised his eyebrows on me.
