I rolled my eyes, a groan escaping my lips as I groggily got out of bed to open the door.
"Who is it?" I asked as my voice cracked slightly.
No answer. Could it be- No. Don't think like that, he wouldn't. I smacked my palm against my forehead, subconsciously cursing myself for even thinking Chase would show.
'It's been weeks Cheryl, get over yourself... and him' the voice of Anthony kept replaying in my head like vinyl.
I opened the door of the house to reveal Alessandra, who's barely muttered a word to me since Chase had broken up with me, "Sandra, almost forgot you existed considering the fact that you haven't spoken to me since Chase cheated." I held my lips in a tight smile.
"Cheryl, I'm sorry, okay? Chase has been so beaten up-"
"Don't even mention his name." I said before I tried closing the door.
Tried.
"There's a party tonight, if you haven't heard. E-Elmo's throwing it.." I nodded slowly as she stuttered a bit, stopping me from closing the door fully. Elmo and I weren't on the best of terms, but we were still friends nonetheless.
"Hannah and him really want you to come. I don't know if he is going to be there, but either way I think everyone else would love to see you there." She pauses for a moment before continuing on, "As would I."
I pursed my lips as the next words fell from my mouth, without me having a care in the world, "I would love to go to a party. There better be games." I told the familiar face before shutting the door, leaning my back against it.
"God, please don't let Chase be at that party." I whispered, starring up at the ceiling as a tear trickled down my face. Not even the smallest part of me was over him.

"Chase is going to be at the party." Madison said as I sat on her bed, my facial expression immediately changing.
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked, nearly spitting out the Pepsi from my mouth.
She turned on her chair, nodding slowly "Why don't you bring a date?" I immediately shook my head. The only guy that's been occupying my mind these past few weeks is Chase. Also, Timothee Chalamet, but who could blame me?
"C'mon, he obviously thinks you're still sad about the breakup." She stated in a 'duh' tone.
"Because I am." I said as I took another sip of my soda. "I love him." I whispered, not completely sure as to whether or not she had heard me.
"He doesn't need to know that," she stood up "I'll text Zach."
"Anyone but Zach." I rolled my eyes.
"Too late," she said as she tossed me her phone, the message she sent to Zach apparent "I hate you so much- he's typing!" I stated, panicked, as she immediately sat next to me.
Madison Ur now Cheryl's date to the party tn U can thank me later
Zach I'm down Idk how that happened, but thank you?
I rolled my eyes once again as I read his text, "Chase hates him."
"Which is why he's the perfect date." She said as she grabbed her phone from my hands, tugging on my arm for me to stand which I did.
"Here, put this on." She said as she gave me a grey t-shirt dress and a black jumper.
After changing I applied a little bit amount of makeup and grabbed my car keys as we headed to Elmo's house for the party.
