maisie peters"Cheryl?" I was awoken by the soft voice of Chase who towered over my bed, staring at me looking slightly confused.
"Do you remember last night?" I asked, a groan escaping my lips. I didn't bother to sit up, still being immensely tired.
"Yes, but when did I fall asleep?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck.
He was now half dressed, wearing sweatpants but still shirtless. "I went to get you an Advil and water, but when I came back up you were knocked out." I smiled slightly at the memory of Chase sound asleep in bed.
"Oh. I'm sorry-"
I cut him off before he would continue his apology, "It's okay. I'm just glad you're okay and didn't hurt yourself somewhere or go home and get scolded by your parents." I chuckled lightly as I sat up whilst he just smiled at me in return.
"What time is it?" I asked Chase, not knowing where my phone was.
He pulled his phone out from his from his back pocket before a frown came upon his face, "9:52"
"Shit," I whispered, getting up out of bed "My dad's going to murder me if he finds out I missed classes."
"Where is he?" Chase asked, hesitantly going to sit on the edge of my bed.
"Miami?" I shrugged, "Somewhere in Florida. Beats me."
He nodded, "You hungry?"
I looked down at my belly. I hadn't been eating much to be honest, although I know I should. I barely had an appetite anymore considering the fact that I was slowly starting to relapse. My eating disorder was slowly coming back and it was starting to get the best of me, "No. But if you are, there's food in the kitchen." I said before I walked into my bathroom, grabbing my toothbrush and a bit of toothpaste.
Once I was finished I put my hair up into a messy bun, not wanting to be bothered by having to have to brush the knotty mess.
I sighed as I looked at myself in the mirror. God, I looked like a wreck. It was noticeable that I was thinner, the bags on my eyes were more visible than ever and I was extremely pale. Not to mention the fact that my hair was a mess and I had slight smudges of makeup on my face. I turned the faucet back on, dabbing some soap and water onto my face before washing it.
I walked back into my room to see Chase still sat in my bed, aimlessly scrolling through his phone as I ignored him, opening my closet door.
I grabbed a hoodie of Chase's that I still had and tossed it to him, which startled him a bit "Sorry. I just figured you'd want a hoodie. And to be fair, that is technically yours."
He smiled before getting up and slipping it on over his head.
"Cheryl, about what I said last night-"
"Don't worry about it." I gave a tight smile before heading out my room and walking down the steps. I didn't want to hear him say he didn't mean any of it because I wanted to believe he did. I wanted to believe I was more to him than what he let on.
I let out a sigh as I reached the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of orange juice from the fridge. I propped myself up to sit on the counter as I stared blankly ahead of me.
How did my life turn to this?
"Do you have more orange juice?" Chase asked once he found me in the kitchen. I shook my head, putting my hand that held the bottle out, towards him. "You can have some of mine."
He walked over to me, now standing in between my legs. Hesitantly, he grabbed the bottle from my hands as he took a sip. Both of us refusing to break eye contact from each other as the sexual tension in the room built up.
"Thank you." He whispered, setting the bottle down on the counter next to my thigh where he now rested his hand.
I could feel the heat radiating off his body as he stared at me, the look of lust growing in his eyes as the seconds passed by.
And before I knew it, I felt his hand grip my hip as the other cupped my jaw and his lips collided with mine.
