"I still can't believe you made Zach my date. Why do I even need one?" I asked as I turned to look at Madison who stood with Benjamin next to her, his arm wrapped around her shoulder.

"Honestly Cheryl, I think it's a good idea." Ben shrugged.

"Good idea, my ass." I mumbled as I crossed my arms. "He's the devil incarnate." I starred down at my shoes, already dreading being here although we weren't even fully inside the house yet and just stood near the porch.

"He's not that bad Cher, stop being so dramatic." Madison said as she gave me a stern look. A part of me wanted to get back into my car and drive home, sulking whilst another part of me wanted to prove to everyone and myself that I could have fun without Chase.

"Cheryl!" I heard the voice of Zach call out behind me as if God was giving me a sign, but I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Speak of the devil and he'll appear." I said to the two who've I've grown immensely close too in the past weeks, before turning to be greeted by Zach, who embraced me in a hug.

"Happy to be your date m'lady." Zach said he wrapped his left arm around my shoulders, his right being used to dap up Ben and then gave Madison a nod.

"Let's go already." I said as I motioned towards the familiar house, not wanting to talk much longer.

"Brother!" Zach yelled, calling out to Zane who stood on the porch of the house with a red solo cup in hand, talking to a few boys who I knew where on the football team. How cliché.

Zane sent me a smile, then nodded to his brother "Never thought I'd the see the day my beloved brother brought miss Cheryl Sturbelle to a party." He said as he clapped his hands together. More like tried, considering he had a cup in hand.

I hate this already, I thought as I slightly rolled my eyes.

"Want a drink?" Zach asked as he released me from his grip and motioned towards the in-house bar once we were downstairs and inside.

I shook my head in response, "Not yet."

I looked around hoping to see him. The last I saw of Chase was about a week ago at school before spring break.

"I don't know why you're in love with him, he's a dick." Zach said as he took a sip of his drink, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Like you aren't." I scoffed.

Hypocrite

"C'mon I've been nothing but sweet to you since I've met you." He smiled sweetly.

In all honesty he wasn't wrong and I hated to admit it, "Maybe... but you are an ass to the people you don't like. Not even, the people you don't even care enough to get to know."

"You talking 'bout Chase and his 3 little musketeers." He joked, but I hardly found it amusing, starring at him coldly.

"Give me that," I said before taking the drink from his hands "And don't say his name." I rolled my eyes, taking a small sip of whatever the hell was in his cup.

"Ew, it's beer." I made a face, starring down at the cup in disgust. I hated beer.

"Chase." He said, ignoring my comment about beer, as I rolled my eyes, "Didn't I just say not to say his-"

He cut me off quickly, "No, Chase. Over there." He motioned his head to behind me.

I quickly turned to see Chase standing there, about 15 feet away from me talking to a girl with brown hair and slightly tan skin.
